And I did mention specifically that it’s “what if” in the sense that service aircraft didn’t have AESA (which holds true). I however, never denied that demonstrators were tested or were mounted with AESA radar.
It’s the exact same airframe, but for the static demonstration tail and potentially wing was replaced.
On photo it has it’s old tail and potentially wing back and can take off into the air.

There is no “only in theory” for the MiG-35’s radar, 154 (a MiG-35D) tested and flew with Zhuk-AE for a decent bit of time.

Airframe number 741 is also equipped with Zhuk-AE. It’s original classification was MiG-29M but it is used as MiG-35 technology demonstrator by RSK MiG

741 also features Zhuk-AE with full array of TRM installed, 154 only had a dish with reduced amount. Not sure of the 747 fate tbh, but it also might have Zhuk-AE installed since there was 2 radars produced
Currently, the 37 aircraft in service use mechanical radars; an AESA radar was always a possibility but was never ordered, and the only Russian aircraft with an AESA radar is the Su-57.
I’m not against the MiG-35; it has AESA radars in the game. In my post, I even said I understood the decision to include it.
I only used the MiG-35 example to show how Gaijin employs selective realism and makes extremely strange and contradictory decisions regarding Chinese aircraft.

Their Rank IX aircraft aren’t competitive and have been completely ruined by highly questionable decisions on Gaijin’s part.
Its most modern 4.5-generation indigenous fighter, the backbone of its air force, with 400 units in service, is simply extremely poorly represented in the game.
The MiG-35 is a good example of how a fighter jet can be well implemented in the game.
The J-16 and other fighters (from other nations) should receive this same level of attention in their implementation, especially if the aircraft sits at the end of the tech tree.
why cant the j11b/j15t/j16 get the center double pylons from the j10c same way as the su27sm/su30/su30sm got theirs from the su35?
i mean gaijin can just copy paste the radar from j10c to j15 and j16 but cant copy paste the center pylons?

but the J-10 isnt even part of the same family of planes as the j11/15/16
gaijijn copied the radar so they consider it the same, plus the distance between the j10 landing gear is smaller than the air intakes from the j11/j15/j16 so it has plenty space to fit them
