I’d rather helicopters not have scouting that just seems like a bad idea.

before they added spawn markers for heli pads it used to be good
7.62 atleast from my memory was good enough to pen the cockpit sides and rockets if you knew how to aim could work aswell
Idk Helicopter are just in that weird state now where you are either immortal or a stale leaf, 7.62 for the most part against other helicopters just kind of tickles them.
Not all helicopters, only utility ones, don’t see any issues with that especially since there are already drones which can scout.
I don’t want drones to be able to scout and I don’t want heli’s too either it just seems terrible.
I mainly used the AB 205 to destroy helicopters. On very rare occasions, when I was lucky and the stars in the sky aligned and my horoscope told me that Jupiter, Venus, Mars and Saturn were favourable🤣, then I was able to kill even a tank.
Yeah but the expectation being on you being able to find and intercept an enemy helo as the primary means of kills especially in a br where very few helicopters are seen isn’t the best.
You’re right, I worked on this helicopter until I got all the modifications, and it took me a really long long long long long long long long long time. I remember it was the first vehicle I used in BR 8.0-8.7 matches, then I would approach the enemy airport and wait the entire match for an enemy helicopter to appear. When I was lucky, helicopters would appear, otherwise I would sit there doing nothing for the entire match, observing the enemy airport, which was deadly boring…
Some time ago, I asked to lower its BR to 6.7, which would help a lot, not only for the Italian helicopter but also for its Japanese twin, but the Tiger players were against it because they didn’t want a helicopter above their heads (they acted as if there were no SPAA in the game to use against aircraft… but the truth is that they were mainly complaining because they only wanted to play with tanks, which is stupid since aircraft exist in the game and remain in the game even if you complain).
I also don’t think that helicopters should be below the br of 7.7 my only thing with the Japanese Helicopter is that is actually has enough missiles to often secure a kill maybe even two.
Then you’re thinking about it the wrong way… Think about it for a second, it’s not a problem at all to put AB 205 A-1 and UH-1B at BR 6.7. In fact, it literally improves the game, since they are not a threat at this BR because they don’t have a ballistic computer and, moreover, even at this BR they can be easily eliminated, since most tanks have an anti-aircraft machine gun on the roof… In my opinion, it is simply the group of heavy tank players, along with those who only want to play only and exclusively with tanks and hate everything that flies, who always complain and prevent the game from improving.
If you disagree, explain why you think these two helicopters in BR 6.7 would be OP in your opinion, when in fact they are not at all? Because, ultimately, in my personal experience (given that there have already been discussions over the years about the issue of these helicopters), those who oppose this change are either people who don’t know the game well and don’t know how to play properly, or people who make up a lot of absurd excuses because they hate helicopters.
I don’t want to see a helicopter in my ww2 matches, some of the tanks are already enough of an offense. The japanese helicopter also is fine enough to play at this br with its surplus of rockets that allow you to aim since you have rockets to spare.
Have you ever tried flying this Italian helicopter or that Japanese one? Do you have any idea how difficult it is to hit something without a ballistic computer? From my experience with the AB 205 A-1, I can assure you that you have to get very close to the target to hit it, and only if you are very, very, very, very, very lucky will you be able to destroy it (it is much more likely that you will damage it without destroying it)… At that point, since you’ve gotten too close, even a Second World War tank can easily destroy you with either its cannon or machine gun, not to mention that once you enter the war zone, due to the noise your engine and helicopter blades make, the entire opposing team will see you as their primary target and start firing only at you…
Furthermore, if the “Second World War” issue bothers you so much, why doesn’t anyone complain about the M55, M44, and all those “Cold War” tanks that didn’t exist in the “Second World War” but are in the same BR as the Second World War? As you can see, it’s absurd to complain only about helicopters when the historical factor has long since ceased to exist in Warthunder…
Yes I own both helicopters, thats why I find the Japanese huey fine its amount of rockets allow for you to aim them as you can spare a few to aim.
I did mention the tanks in my comment that you responded to and it is a source of constant complaints about these cold war era tanks being present in the ww2 brs. Tbh you could put the AB 205 in reserve it’d still be a dogshit helo it doesn’t matter what br it is in, the thing either needs fixed or just removed.
I understand your point of view… But since AB 205 A-1 is already in the game, in my opinion it would be a waste of the developers’ work to remove it from the game… Since I’m sure that in order to implement it in the game, someone had to spend time and effort modelling its 3D profile and then putting it in the game, and it doesn’t seem right to me to remove it completely… That’s why, in my opinion, if you lower its BR, at least it will be able to do something before being destroyed, and you would make it slightly less useless, so that some brave players can use it in the game. That’s my point of view. I don’t think it would solve the problem entirely, but it could certainly help make the experience of playing with this helicopter more enjoyable.
Or you could just give it a proper weapon loadout and leave it at its current br
What do you mean by “adequate equipment”? Do you mean anti-tank missiles? I don’t think they’ve ever been installed on this helicopter…
However, I know for a fact that the Italians have installed a pair of 19 rocket launchers (the same ones as the UH-1B) and I know that someone has already reported this.
But I can assure you that even with that pair of 19 rocket launchers, it remains extremely weak and still needs a BR reduction like the UH-1B to have any chance during a match.
The UH-1b is fine though it has enough ffar to actually aim them and then hit a target it also has enough for it to kill when it dumps them into something, so giving it a bunch of rockets would make it fine at 7.7.
