They are planning to add multi-vehicle anti air systems, so I don’t doubt Patriot being added in the future, but I’m not knowledgeable on it so I won’t argue balancing. I don’t think the Barak-1 missile is as mysterious as you think, this suggestion thread goes over it quite well in my opinion.
Israel has tested the SPYDERs capabilities a few weeks ago, although not operational, The state gave Rafael the “Go” to try and shoot down Hezbollah rockets. So you could say it has been used by the country operationally.
In short: the use of SPYDER by the IDF has been declassified, having one battery stationed at the Western Galil in Israel. Unfortunately, 2 accidents happened that got one Israeli civilian killed by one of the missiles that lost track of its target, and another accident where the missile hit a military ship’s engine.
Man so sad Israel just doesn’t invest in the cheap ass SACLOS SAMs bullshit and instead actually put good missiles (Fox-3s) on a truck. Now we can’t get it because other nations haven’t figured it out yet :(
The SPYDER has likely been in service longer than it is known. Israel Frequently uses tech for a while behind the scenes. I can say for certain it has been their M.O for hardware in the past.
Just think about how long documentation on Israeli hardware remains classified for.
They should introduce the SPYDER in WT, do it properly and make it a new BR let’s say 12.3. It would be a very strong SPAA and it would help level the playing field in game.
In fact, it is not difficult to add Spyder at all. Spyder has many configurations (such as integrating photoelectric aiming system/AESA radar/missile launcher in the same truck). Referring to the 81C already owned by Japan in the game, it can be found that the Spyder shown in the figure below has already met the requirements. Unfortunately, Gaijin is still unwilling to add a top air Defence system to Israel.
Lmao, you mean a truck with missiles that can only lock on to a target in good weather from 4.5 km away? And with no radar? Just don’t give the Gaijins an idea, the only thing greater than their stupidity is greed. We need to make a new anime featuring Gaijin, The Seven Deadly Sins.
After all, the introduction of new mechanics of vehicles with separate radars requires the development of new models of equipment and interface + take into account the operating range of a truck with a radar and a truck with missiles. But they only need cheap quick money, so in the game there is such a disgrace as Antelope + Tan-SAM and the lack of Datalink/LOAL in other SAMs.
