Is it possible for the UK tech tree to acquire the ASRAAM missile in the future?

ASRAAM has a larger rocket motor and better seeker. It’s got less drag and has more space for electronics which leads to much more range, speed, scary high flare resistance and it can also lock onto a specific part of the target (wings, engine, cockpit). It’s not really a surprise it’s better since it’s a much larger missile.

On the tornado it would be very funny, on the eurofighter it would not be funny at all.

very late to this I know, but in case you havent found out yet or for future readers, iirc asraam and iris-t were the first missiles to use the 128x128 imaging infrared seeker that was eventually put onto 9x in block 2 (i want to say?).

BAe contracted Hughes to develop a 128 x 128 IIR seeker for ASRAAM. That seeker was then reused for AIM-9X as far as I know.

IRIS-T uses an unrelated 128 x 2 mechanically scanned IIR seeker.
