True the devs brought this on themselves when they allowed the pantsir to have almost 2x the range of any other AA in the game for years but all of a sudden now they care about sams having similar ranges to each other.

i wouldn’t go so far as the to say its better since your not gonna be hitting a plane thats trying not to be hit past 12km with a pantsir either, i think as they are now their about on par with each other. it just shouldn’t have taken so long for other nations to be even on par with the pantsir

i mean given how much bigger and sluggish the new systems is i think on par is an overstatement, and given that new systems cant intercept stuff like agm or gbu, on par is just wrong

im pretty sure they changed the intercept stats so it can kill munitions better now, and i say their even bacuase the irst is just harder to dodge at closer ranges than the pantir while having similar effective range in game.
i would say pantsir is still more versatile
Well in this case it should be noted that Ukraine is an operating country that has direct access to these systems.
it def is since its 1 vehicle over multiple while also having guns, but i still think the slm will be a good AA in game even without 40 km range

We don’t want much anyway. Just the missile should reach Mach 3 speed and be able to maneuver at 60g. That’s it. And it’s ridiculous not to acknowledge the sources.

From the absolute worst estimates from a real world test the missile would have an average speed of 450m/s at travelled distance of 27km.
That’s still like Mach 1.3 on average after 27km.
If the missile goes below Mach 1 at less than half that distance you can already tell it’s not going to be correct. Especially since the average should be AT LEAST 450m/s which is basically as fast at the SLM ingame after like 4km…
( funny idea tho, if the average speed is 450m/s they could also just make it burn for 70s at 450m/s instead and it would get there ) , but yeh the problem is that its average ( no matter how they are doing it right now) is below that
1.3 MACH at 27km you say? Check here, 12km and already below 1 MACH. This update is just doomed.

It’s speed reduced to below MACH to non maneuvering jets. Now imagine a jet spawns and instantly dives or performs hard turns. Missile will go below MACH even faster than 12km lol
