I think it is hit by the same issue as IRIS-T, hit not registering because of the refresh rate of the server. Not able to confirm though, just a theory
that and i mean the loft issue.
likely repurposed lofting code from horizontally launched missiles
Is it even able to reach 100 km or does it fall out of the sky at 20-30 km?
stops burning at 3.5km mach 4 - mach 1.8 at 13km
it will reach 20, maybe 25 on a good day. basically an aster15?
100km is a clear marketing lie
edit : yeah nah it’s way worse in effective range than an aster 15, the only thing it’s better at is the short peak at mach 4
Its the first day of the dev chill, test buk
my bad my bad, it’s like when the mi28 was impossible to kill with iris-t on day 1 but then they fixed it right?
What a surprise. So is there still no reliable counter to the kh-38 spam?
According to unbiased @WreckingAres283 it’s the worst and I got my post removed for saying otherwise lmao

heh i think buk got its drawbacks tbh
But the energy loss and multipath make aster lack behind imo
difficult to test because the radar does not even see that far
That being said and for a low altitude shot, i’m fairly convinced you will never reach anywhere close to 100km
phrasing was ambiguous at best, and Buk gets 3 radars incl. 2 AESA
search radar is essentially optional and TADS has a very low profile when folded
easily the best, even if Aster 30 is ungimped in the far future
We’re not even done with ungimping of IRIS-T yet
Do they all have the same TWS track bug which automatically switches to the dropped munition rather than continue tracking the plane?
It’s less pronounced now, but still happening. Especially with munition. Intercepting a volley of kh38s is practically impossible.
yes but the missile track is assigned when you launch, you have to keep track of which incoming missile/plane has already been fired at
in the radar screen, contacts that have a missile on the way are shown by an asterisk, but even that is unreliable
and at the end of the day it doesn’t matter since your missile has a 70%+ chance of missing the kh38 anyway
Dont forget they are buffing KH38MT’s range up to 70km and considering ASTER30 has insane drag 38MT carriers will still be able to outplay them.
I like to consider it Russia hitting 50% winrrate in 11_2 GSB (actually balanced for the first time in YEARS) since it is data that is a direct comparison between USSR(and a smattering of China) vs everyone elses equipment.
