no, people just figured out that whenever an aircraft drops a bomb/missile, all missile launched by IRIS-T SLM will switch to track that ammunition. - Due to a bug in the radar / tracking and DL logic.
Any player that knows this can basically fly in a straight line without flaring at IRIS-T and kill it.
Bonus is that IRIS-T can’t really intercept ammunition due to bad hit-reg by gajin.
30% chance it gets fixed in 1 year, another 30% chance it gets fixed in 3-5 years.
I usually come back once a year to see if major issue are fixed, but often thats not the case.
Look at Trophy APS, it still 100% broken after 10 months. Not to mention other major bugs affecting other vehicles. Gajin doesnt seem to care, and the Devs/CMs dont even communicate these issues.
Adding super modern vehicles is nearly pointless, when the tech behind them is either missing to 80% or just broken and left broken.
not only that currently datalink isnt even doing datalink and there is no update whatsoever, once you lose lock of a target the missile its just gonna go IOG
Isnt it great to have a 250km range strategical/operational radar, when all aircraft spawn no further than 23km from you in the sky?
(Not to mention the radar is somehow worse than some 80s radars atm)
People are gonna hate how bad Patriot is gonna be at these distances.
At least you can share your target data with allied units… oh wait nvm.
I didn’t compare it with other spaa. I compared its effectiveness with all other ground vehiclers. Right now, it has a pretty insane combination of br, efficiency and sp cost.
its better to compare it against other spaa’s anyways, its still the most effective spaa yeah for sure, but its still broken, and its not impossible to avoid either
Yesterday I shot an Iris to intercept a spike missile, shot from an chopper. It was going slow, following its top down attack pattern (or what Gajin things about top/down :) )
The Iris missile somehow didn’t explode. I could follow the smoketrail and it should have hit the Spike. Thats what I often noticed. Shooting ordnance fails far too often.
Another issue I noticed: The radar switches targets as it wants, you have no real control what target gets locked. You’re shoting a missile to down a jet, then it releases ordnance and the lock/missile switches over to the first bomb/missile/rocket which was released. You need to re-lock the jet and fire another missiles. Add the high miss rate vs ordnance and you see there’s a giant waste of Iris missiles. The radar does what it wants with almost no player control. Sometimes I miss things like Flarakrad, for real.
Third issue are still far too small maps with very bad line of sights. Like the Korean pit map, factory maps and many more. Choppers and jets get above you while you’re sitting in a tiny pit map and can’t even leave the spawn. Also ground units often shot your dish, cause of the map design.
I had several matches on large Fulda, these were great. Most maps should be like this one. I really started to like Fulda, Red Desert and some more of this type. While factory, seversk, 48th parallel-type maps are super toxic. I wish I could leave without crew lock. Remove crewlock please.
