Is it just me or does the SLM just straight up refuse to launch its missiles sometimes? Like I have to spam “Fire” just to get one missile to launch.

Because it’s unreliable IRL. I’ve even seen videos of IRIS-T system almost killing troops operating it.

who knows maybe they misunderstood because they thought of SLS instead of SLM and by calling it “SL” it creates confusion 🤷♂️

Hey, are there any news/updates regarding the interception capabilities ? Because right now it can intercept enemies munitions only by sheer luck, even slow ones like GBUs/AGMs (KH38 seem to be almost immune to it)

Yes, I already wrote about that in an eralier post in this thread: Iris-t slm - #1228 by kensai16
TL;DR: Red flame means the propellant contains lithium instead or additionally to aluminium. Aluminium only would burn orange/yellow. Lithium gives higher thrust so the bigger rocket motor of the SLM should give more thrust than an equivalently sized SLS rocket motor would.

isnt aster 30 a 450kg missile literally a telephone pole that goes mach 4.5 with 50g turn and 120km range that’s literally busted like you can try notching it sure but this thing ain’t some slow mach 2.2 cugh cugh 120c-7 it’s mach 4.5 it will close the gap before you even realize so multipathing is only thing will work against it unlike irist slm that barely gets 30km and Mach 3 (allegedly) and 40g turn (allegedly)
Actually, the first stage is 50G. The second stage is more like 60G.
It’s also probably close to Mach 3.5-mach4 in most situations yes. That’s how it gets its very long range. Still the question of nothing and multi path.

SLX is still being developed. This article mentions that, if ordered fast, it could enter service in 2029: Luftwaffe sieht Bedarf für die Beschaffung von Iris-T SLX
So still a couple years out. Not surprising tbf, Diehl only revealed the project last year.

Condensation is not limited to high altitudes. With right conditions they can form at any altitude.
So SLM shoud be smokeless (concdesless) only on desert maps…
