yep…
thats also what our reaction was
Oh yeah, sorry. I’ve been rambling in my head but still there are non official sources stating SLS can reach mach 3 speeds as well. And SLS is also not a platform that can be mounted on a plane. only regular IRIS-T
if you mean this:
Zusammenfassung
allready tried…
The SLS is the exact same missile that is used on planes, it’s just a software update for the guidance logic.
You can literally pick one of a JAS39C, plug a laptop into it for an update and then plop it into the EldE 98
I don’t think that’s true, it’s a big selling point that regular IRIS-T can be used as air defence, i think norway literally sent all the IRIS-T they had (had been used on f-16 and were planned to be used on shorad nasams) to Ukraine so they’re buying 9x, because they’d be waiting a long time with all production iris-t pretty much being sent there.
this
Normal IRIS-T + small update via an PC = IRIS-T SLS, thats it
Yeah but that was together with all the other really bad sources, maybe it’s worth a try with prefacing that these are 2 independent studies released by trusted sources that can be used to model the SLM more accurately.
But we should wait to see what they do with the SLM considering there’s an internal report.
Oh i see, i thought SLS was a bit longer with same warhead as regular IRIS-T
yep, all you need to do is have the right contacts )))
but we will likely wait till this report Community Bug Reporting System has an result, we passed also the new and better sources (not visible on report), so see you in 3 years xD
Bigger and more powerful motor that should easily break speeds of Mach 3 :P
Nerfing it the way they have by introducing an artificial speed ceiling makes no sense tho… Its not like launching it from the ground would make its structural limit decrease
It’s from sources. Most sources i’ve seen say SLS is mach 2 and both air launched version and SLM as mach 3.
I think it’s more to do with the delta v the engine is capable of.
Sure, but my point here is they did not change the dV of the motor, they just hard caped its speed to 710m/s if I’m understanding this correctly:
So in this case, its not “the SLS only makes it to M2.0” its “the SLS is not allowed to accelerate past M2.0”
I don’t know how to read the data mines so i can’t comment on that sadly.
So in that document, SLM can reach > M3 at Mach 3. It will also be able to reach 40 km distance as was calculated before, currently around 30. Is the current speed final or going to be increased to Mach 3 based on this document?
we have a special techmod at hand which considers this thrid party and not accepted cause its not goverment or manufacturer affiliated.
Which never was a requirement for authored works yet
and in which bug report it was not accepted?
are any of these useful?
I’ve found a primary swiss source that confirms it can effectively engage an evading target at 30km distance and 15km altitude. It includes a definition of effective range as well.
Will prob be reported tomorrow.
