I’m very worried that he will be like a typhoon, and his performance will not match reality
lmao, i just realised why we didnt had kills at 30km and so on… self destruct is currently after 40 seconds
https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/okQqTZQOFuI9
lmao, after watching the replay its just the 1st launcher which has the 40s self destruct
So it seems the seeker can’t pick up enemy munitions?
Like at all.
2nd launcher
This is also a good example of the missile being too slow. It’s supposed to be able to get to 30km range in 60 seconds, yet it takes 78 seconds to get 24km away. The problem is that I’ve got no source for that flight time other than an ancient article describing a 2015 test.
I dont know how the snails wants to gave us the 40km range, like we have 500km/h at 25km distance in 75s xD
By increasing the max speed value from 700 m/s to what it should be (1000+ m/s). No idea why that value actually matters, because if Gaijin was simulating aerodynamic drag properly they wouldn’t need a bandaid speed limiter.
I just love the fact of
“stacked beam”
Gaijin: PESA?
Lets be real here guys even in its current state it would be the best AA in the game hands down, a lot of other SAMS have worse range than advertised but thats just kinda how the game works.
thats for sure, but the point still stands
IRL
height: 20km
range: 40km

they also said in the devblog:
The missiles feature an all-aspect thermal imaging homing head with an inertial guidance system, they also offer improved noise and IR countermeasure immunity and are capable of hitting targets at distances of up to 40 km.
thats kinda the same logic tho of saying 80km on the aim120 when your never gonna hit that kinda shot on a real target, the devs are most likely going off the logic that the target would need to be flying at you with decent speed and not turning to hit 40km.
(talking about the 40km range) Timestamp in case the set one wont work: 3h 2m 42s
I dont get BVVDs Idea with the High, like sure, an Missile launched at high Altitude has more range, but how does this match with an Ground launched Missile?
Like, these 20x40km are for an Ground Launched Missile, not an Air launched one.
When its according to BVVD just 15km under Realistic conditions, (instead of 40km)
Shouldn’t the IRIS-T SLS also just work at like 3,5km Instead of its 12km when we use the same rules as from the SLM?
you think it works beyond 3-4km on supersonic targets? nope.
Dunno, havent tested it realy with the SLS
Hmm, so IF we would realy want the 40km we would need something like the SLX which has 40km Altitude and 80km range :(
Should check if it can even hit a 20km target rn. I kind of doubt it considering the numbers ive seen. This thing seems to be massively underperforming kinetically
Hit an Hovering target at 25km, after 75s the Impact was with 510 km/h
