Iris-t slm

That is not the point. You guys said changing the terminal range is unrealistic and compared it to the sls. which makes no sense

And why is it realistic, you tell us then…
The report which gaijin allegedly used to enact this change didn’t even contain a source to make the terminal range on the slm 4km, and gaijin themselves don’t provide a source instead saying its to improve IRCM effectiveness.

How should i know, i don’t have a source

Yes it does?
It has a terminal IR homing. Before that, if it is unable to aquire it’s target, it relies on a predesignated trajectory using IOG guidance.
If it is able to aquire the target instantly, it is in the terminal homing from the get go.

link?

Where did they say this?

True, just checked sls has a terminal range of 10km

@H_ngma u lied to me >:(

Where did you get that from?

Yea like… thats not a source xD

But ye if it does that and we have like a video of it shooting then it would make sense

Me and kedrigern did some tests, and it did not help against LDIRCM LMAO.

IRCM means flares, that’s it

Missile data sheet

IRCM = Infrared counter measure

this can be anything to defeat an IR missile lel
But ye there reasoning is bs

Like i said secondary source. Its still more than for every other figure so far?

Yeah we know that 10km is the in game terminal range. We were talking about irl

He was talking about IRL, there IRIS-T/SLM supposedly have 25km range.
And it does not change the fact that the IR guidence is terminal, no matter if the missile flied on IOG before or not, it is still terminal.

We don’t know IRL

like you send me a photo of black text on white background… i can also write that

IRIS-T already had pretty strong flare rejection, the only way to spoof it were with rockets. So… I’ve no idea what their goal was.
