yeah in game
I’m sorry my guy, he was flying away and then turned back into it and just caught the proxy. There was no active effort to evade. No change in elevation so the missile largely is flying in a smooth arc.
Avoiding Pantsir at maximum range is easy. Once you’re past ~15-16km get perpendicular to the missile as it gets closer pitch up roll over and pitch down. Doesn’t even need to be a huge change in elevation.
Of course that’s not me saying Pantsir is bad or anything of the sort. It is very potent in game, but is not some 20km death sphere around the map.
You can even bully them in GR4 and thats hardly an F-16 when it comes to dodging;
You can also hoof JDAM’s at them to great affect;
Low and fast also works;
Or just high and fast;
I’m used to it by this point, i don’t take it personally as i fully understand it isn’t actually directed at me :)
Cool ^^ There are many neat little tricks that google has built in that many don’t know about, it helps A LOT when searching for oddly specific PC issues and things like that as well.
I’m glad i helped ^^
If you want even more tips here is a list of operators: (Google Advanced Search Operators - Google Documenten) and here is the advanced search page with extra tips to the right of the boxes: (https://www.google.com/advanced_search)
And now do it in SIM in AC with RWR which cant pick S1 launch…
Sure that does make it more tricky as you need to watch for launches with the old mk.1 eyeball. But GR4 doesn’t detect Pantsir over its RWR beyond the search radar, launch and track are K band and out of coverage. And the TERMA pod MAWS isn’t picking up the launch from 15-20km away.
Meanwhile you have videos of EFT defeating missiles from <10km of range by just diving a bit and turning. Only one of those can be true.
Honestly not surprised seeing you’re the guy who said pre-nerf EFT was a worse dogfighter than Rafale lmao.
This game not different range and shoot high . All SAM range and shoot high are the same
There is a huge difference in situation awareness between cockpit view and 3d person view.
In 95% of situations you don’t see the missile and you spend defending against missile which you don’t know where is or even if its there…
Long story short, in SIM S1 is 19km death sphere…
we all know the effort you also put here and anywhere mate. dont worry
Well, I think we’re forgetting the fact that we’re not trying to get something to beat the Pantsir, we want something to counter the Rafales, F-15s, F-18s, EF2000s, and of course, the Su-30 and Su-34. All those videos prove that the Pantsir, while being the best AA in the game, is still really vulnerable. So all the AAs that perform worse than it are ineffective, to say the least.
The main selling point of this update for many people was all the new AA systems, which were supposed to bring some balance to CAS at top tier, but here we are, still wondering if they’ll even be as good as the Pantsir, an AA we already had, and that clearly wasn’t enough.
Can you add it, so we can select our target? Maybe on the new Radar view you provided?
ALso why is the top speed not at 1000m/s? i dont think there is a primary source suggesting 700, but all sources suggest 1000.
You are aware that its allready possible?
No it can’t.
20km is the range at which it can just about hit a hovering target, and no it can’t hit Mach 3… Mach 3 in V-Launch is incredibly fast, and is only possible with dedicated G2A missiles.
if you have primary sources on that post it here we gonna make a stack
Is launch tied to the track radar band, or is it independent?
The french bug report on the MICA and the quoted source on M3.0 is really
If I recall there is Search, Track and Launch (MCGS). For Track & Launch Pantsir is operating in K-Band.
That might be wrong, ill check.
Cheers
of course, the max range is often just that anyway. Still it should be quite dangerous at 12 km :
It very much can, the delta V in game already allows for such speeds (maybe a little less if it has to turn hard)
Main issue is its drag, which is also responsible for the missile lacking about 30km of range when air launched from up high and fast
As it’s an older missile, it doesn’t burn as long as an IRIS-T SLM, therefore it can’t go as far. the NG variant will tackle that issue by filling the space gained by the use of smaller electronics with additional propellant
We can keep discussing it here to avoid polluting this thread : VL MICA SAM - History, Design, Performances & Discussion
