As you tested, the speed and power range of the SLM have serious issues. The SLM cannot effectively strike fast-moving targets 11km away because your experiment was a hovering target. When Rafale or typhoon moves rapidly, the missile energy will drop to Mach 1 at 11km
Changes to IRIS-T SLM in 2.46.0.21 from Datamine;
Radar:
- max range: 120km → 250km
- Scope Range Sets;
- Scope 4: 10km → 250km
- Scope 5 (new): 10km
- Distance limit: 30km → 250km (@Dontkev-psn)

Well they better accept it, cuz currently for single target engagement i might go as far as saying flarakrad might be a better choice at this moment when it comes to range and speed.
The only bigger benefit is the ability to engage multiple targets and intercept munitions at the same time. I was really hoping for something to engage at distances equal to pantsir at least so jets would have to take a different approach on after they spawn.

range sizes. You had 20-50-100-10 (1,2,3,4), now it is 20-50-100-250-10 (1,2,3,4,5)

From what ive seen thrown around, it seems to be underperforming current in-game SAM’s in speed at range, so it wouldnt really fill the whole “fix CAS being OP” problem the devs pretend they’re trying to fix with these, so Im a little hopeful they’ll buff it, but I doubt they’ll buff it anywhere near what the sources suggest it should be capable of doing, such as 30km+ interceptions of actively defending targets.

For all intent and purposes it does its job in game, most maps are not big enough to take full advantage of the range but the speed and maneuverability past 12km is concerning, which makes Pantsir still the best at range. It should be Mach 3 for most of its flight time, 700 m/s is abysmal for a top tier system.

like i said swedish SLS will be better in WT when its inferior to SLM IRL they will just say not enough data to not make russian anti air worse
You could try reworking the report into the missile being unable to hit its advertised max ranges and leave it up to Gaijin to figure out how they want to remedy that. The max 40km range and 20km altitude figures are widely advertised by Diehl themselves.
