Iranian Grounds Force Tech Tree

thank you for photos

Iranian Aghareb
A BTR 8x8 based MGS.
Features a welded turret and 90mm gun (mantlet likely to be from M47 & the gun from M46/M36B2)

Almost looks like a toy 😂

This is horrendous, it seems like they tried to make a wheeled assault gun of sorts, but had niether a custom hull nor turret available to integrate. North Korea managed something of this sort on their own, which probably doesn’t make Iran’s domestic industry look all too impressive in comparison.

Iranian one’s likely older and likely has some practical justification like reusing older components, easier produce/maintain etc.
We don’t know the extent of the practicality nor the innards of these North Korean Western platform knockoffs.
(The new NK MBT and the NLOS ATGM carrier likely works in that those are capable of lobbing its munition at targets … quite similar to their earlier, existing platforms. We just don’t know how if the advertised new features actually work as integrated practical platforms/systems.
And the new NK SPG is very much derived from Iran’s modern 155mm SPH, the Raad-2)

I would just expect better from a nation vying to build an arsenal worthy or challenging some of the large militaries of the world, even the continued usage of the BTR-60 and M47 seems a bit outdated all things considered.

And I would definitely agree that North Korea’s domestically produced alternatives to Western tech is nowhere near as technologically relevant as they have insisted; it is all just propaganda of course. But at the very least I believe there is an active attempt to provide the same capabilities.

To my knowledge, Iran has yet to bring out any armor that truly leaves defense analysts guessing as much as with the inherent secrecy of NK-made designs.

It also depends though, if it’s used by the IRGC solely, I can believe it being a simple modification since they’re a paramilitary force essentially. If it’s used by the IRIA too, then yeah it’s a bit more surprising.

most of iranian vehicles are almost copy paste, then it should not be a seperate nation. if current re gime was not here im sure we had iran as a seperate nation already, but believe me, most of them are copy paste

if you want iran as a seperate nation, then what about turkey, brazil, czeck and etc lol

Is there an updated version of this?
Also I was curious what a sub tree model would look like. Iran was leaked supposedly to be a Sub tree for the Soviet tree.

We need it :P

This feels nearly entirely to be copy and paste

The Shafaq missile is an Iranian medium-range air-to-ground missile that has been optimized and produced by the Ministry of Defense of the Islamic Republic of Iran for use on helicopters of the army and IRGC, as well as for use on Karar drones. This missile with a weight of 50 kg is capable of destroying multiple targets up to a range of 20 km with an error rate of 20 cm. Shafaq missile warhead has the ability to penetrate rolled steel up to a depth of 1500 mm.

and new footage from radars of KOWSAR 4th generation heavy bombers from the beginning until now, both radars were multi-functional and multi-band multi-mode digital phased array radars, but the second radar is very similar to the Absar radar, which is the first SAR radar designed and built in Iran. It is possible that SAR technology is also included in the new radar.

A very strange similarity that the digital fire control radar of phased array multi-functional multi-band multi-mode electronic reconnaissance fighter of the 4th generation KOWSAR heavy bombers with the Absar radar, which is the first Iranian SAR radar. It has a distance of 450 kilometers.

The radars designed and built for the KOWSAR 4th generation heavy bomber fighter are very similar to these two types of high-power long-range Russian air-based radars, because the design and construction base of the Binat family fire control radars is based on the Russian Zhuk family radars. Spear-211 multifunctional, multi-band and multi-mode phased array digital fire control radar replaces the old pulse radars in the modernization project of the MiG-21 family of fighters called the MIG-21-93 project. And the other is the Moskit-23 multifunctional, multi-band and multi-mode phased array digital fire control radar installed on MIG-23 Flagger fighters in the form of the Flagger fighter upgrade project by the Russians named MIG-23-98.

A very strange similarity of the digital fire control radars of the multi-functional multi-band and multi-mode electronic probe phased array of the Binat family, made in Iran, installed on the F-4 Phantom and KOWSAR bombers, with the digital fire control radars of the multi-functional multi-band and multi-mode electronic probe phased array radars of the Russian Zhuk family, such as SPEAR-211 and MOSKIT-23 radars which are clearly visible in these photos.

Thats an agm 65 air to ground missile on the f4e

I gotta say, I was a little skeptical of an Iranian ground tree at first, but this looks like it could be a lot of fun, so +1! That said, I think a tech tree version of the M36 and the Sherman would be nice, considering their heavy use in the Iran-Iraq War.
