Assuming this isn’t a joke or a pre-emptive april fools strike, would infantry be able to ride in IFVs, or tank crewmen be able to hop in/out of the vehicle?

Why do you think that is? it’s because of the age rating, its not an in-universe thing its just what they had to do to keep the age rating to pegi 12
i really want the burma maps and pacific war maps to be transferred over they are pretty good
so would the BMP-2M/M60 AMBT Grenade launchers

I am very curious to see how it plays. If its like Enlisted, or even Battlefield, for that matter where its mostly infantry with two or three vehicles available to possibly be spawned (and spawn camped) then…no thank you.
But if its just a normal say…Ground Realistic Battle but now you can choose infantry, then sure. Sounds cool. The idea of a game mode that restricts the core aspect of War Thunder doesn’t sound appealing personally. Big reason I don’t much care for Enlisted. That and it is or was far more Pay-to-win with its Squads micro transitions.

Maybe FPV drones too- I think they could be balanced and fun if they were a highly situational tool with limited effectiveness, and it’s evident that they have become an integral part of modern battlefields.
For example, range limited to like 200m, and only effective if you absolutely nail weakspots, and with limited damage. Carried by IFVs.
We will see how they are implemented on tomorrow’s test/event!

a lot of pretty mid vehicles and weapons would suddenly be quite META like the grenade launcher, and the HE on small guns would actually be worth bringing.

M5 Stuart ‘Satan’, M4 Sherman ‘Crocodile’, TO-55 and the list goes on. With infantry in-game it’s a good excuse for more flamethrower tanks from the lowest to the highest possible battle rating considering flamethrower are a forbidden weapon past world war two (party poopers).
