Infantry and Expanded Tech Trees in War Thunder!

I just want the infantry if i’m being honest. These things could really add some balance to the game which would be super cool to see and i’m praying to what every god is up above that it is permanent.

Good lord no . . . Tailspin was bad, sped up far too fast to even be enjoyed . . . half the planes you shot didn’t even register because the game couldn’t keep up. And unfortunately, they have sped up Air AB at least twice since then.
Faster is not better, it’s just faster is all. You get to a point and it messes up game play so much that it is literally even worse. We are at that point with Air AB now . . any faster and it would be ruined for decent game play.
The planes looked kinda cool, but the cartoonie side of most of it didn’t appeal to me personally. I’m a gamer and not really a military enthusiast, I like shooting stuff . . but within reason.

idk if you were active at the time but firebirds got delayed by weeks meaning that storm warning had only a month of development. Gaijin should have delayed firebirds further and included storm warning within it

I mean tech tree layout

The trailer for the infantry April’s fool update is placed 17th on the YouTube trending page! The hype is really there for a modern infantry shooter with detailed vehicle mechanics.

I just need to leave another comment now that the dust has settled a tad.

I really like the idea of making war thunder have infantry. merging the best bits of Enlisted with the bigger game with the more players. Plus the modern combat fps scene needs something to spice it up and gaijin has the basis to do that

I pretty much completely missed that we will be seeing WORLD WAR ONE vehicles tomorrow. Ive wanted to mess about with a mkV or a sopwith snipe pretty much since I started playing WT over two years ago

I love Battlefield. BF1 and BFV being my two favourite fps games if you exclude the original doom trilogy. the one thing I wish was more defined in those games was vehicles. In other words how vehicles act in war thunder. Mix the madness of something like battlefield bad company 2 with WT tankers and it will be a wild ride

Yeah a lot of people are excited for WW1 content. Personally I think I will enjoy it more than the infantry. Maybe depending on how they implement infantry I might enjoy it so long as it’s better than the Mobile Infantry event I think it could work well.

But overall I am more looking forward to the WW1 content, specifically the aircraft. WW1 is pretty much the birth of modern combat with the advancement of tanks, infantry tactics and weapons, and aircraft with it being the birth of air combat and tactics which still influence today’s air combat. It would be a shame for War Thunder not to highlight one of the most influential wars in recent history.

I love enlisted despite its egregious jank and abysmal ai (even tho it improved after last years zombies event its still ass) I play it with two of my friends and we dominate in that game as infantry, the game lacks depth especially when I go into a CAS role. War Thunder is my main game, I’ve introduced one of my friends to WT and they like it but infantry will bring the other over (she gets motion sick from vehicle controls) this genuinely has the potential to be the perfect meshing of infantry with my friends and my love for tanks

This doesn’t feel like war thunder war thunder is known for the vehicles but now it doesn’t just have what it is known for I just hope that it is a separate mode so you still have the main game but according to the trailer the D point is returning

vehicle only combat appears to be what war thunder was known for in the near future. I recommend giving Enlisted a try to see what things may be like on a larger scale. its a pretty good game but the depth and content of war thunder mixed with that could be something magic

I have played enlisted on my Xbox i didn’t like I prefer hell let loose

fair enough. Enlisted is missing plenty of polish in vital areas so hell let loose does shine above. It a bit like WT doesn’t always translate well to a controller so can really impact the experience

I wonder how much of this is in response to other games - eg Aces and Armour is proposing AI infantry that players will have to work to support in tanks and planes… so everyone is looking for points of differences in using infantry.

AI infantry hasn’t actually been a problem for over 20 years - Combat Mission managed it without much apparent bother from about 2001 or 2002

It would be funny if come Wednesday Gaijin comes out with a “Ha! You fell for it!”

Clearly you know nothing about the previous history with gaijin

Some WT fans already created the gameplay for FPV drones and MAVIC drones used to correct fire for MLRS. It is very fun to play.
I hope Gaijin will do it as well.

Wait so is this two events in one? WW1 tanks/planes AND the new infantry mode? And why does the trailer only show modern infantry? I’m so confused lol
