Yeah, but the problem is: when were these vehicles added? More than 2-3 years ago? And ever since we haven’t seen a single trialed vehicle entering the game.
These Swedish vehicles are there because:
- added before “standards” for vehicle additions were different;
- Sweden simply didn’t have many options, especially heli-wise.
These Swedish vehicles have to be removed from research/purchase (like R2Y2) and be replaced with more realistic options as soon as they are available (e.g. T-80U can be replaced with some Danish/Norwegian Leo2, and if Norway/Denmark/Finland/Sweden gets its hands on top tier heli, it can replace Mi-28 and AHS).
The Oplot-P is still trialed vehicle, which I am against of, however the version Gaijin depicted is Oplot-M that was sent for trials like it was with T-80U and so on. I am against Oplot-M in Chinese TT via Pakistan not because I feel nationalistic about vehicles from my country (unlike some people from some different specific community) but because it is a pure trialed vehicle with no changes.
The Oplot-P that should’ve been added to the game was supposed to be the one that was configured in a different way (different side armor configuration + no APS) while also getting domestic APFSDS round like Naiza. This way the vehicle would’ve been a much more proper addition as it was a configuration that was made specifically for Pakistan, and because it was made specifically for one particular nation makes it different to T-80U that was simply taken from some storage facility and was prepared for trials.
If we were to go by your logic, we should’ve seen Sweden getting Leclerc and M1A2 that were trialed alongside the said T-80U and Leo2 (which won the competition and was adopted). But we don’t, because trialed vehicles that underwent no changes for a specific country usage has no place in the game, as we would’ve seen the US get all of T-series tanks, MiGs and Su’s of all sorts, as well as Soviets getting F-series planes and other Western tech that never adopted for service in the army.
However, Gaijin took the easiest way to treat the tank: simply copy-paste everything from Thai Oplot (model, armament options), and change one letter in the name of vehicle from “T” to “P” and change TT location from “jp” to “cn” (and obviously texture, how could I forget that).
And if devs indeed are going to simply rename vehicle to Oplot-M and call it a day, the fight against it is more than justified.
Yet if they change the model and (maybe) round used the Oplot-P has a place in the game as it would be a country-specific option that was not adopted.
