i wonder when will gaijin fix electric transmission on T25
This update is becoming so peak that I think TVA is about to show up at my doorstep in a bit.
Please link me in PM the post where we have promised submarines?
Please do not use words the meaning you do not understand.
You are creating false narrative and creating offtopic in tank mobility thread.
Stop doing that.
Thank you.

Consequently, we’ll be removing the intermediate gears previously used on turboshaft-powered tanks, as these are gears that were originally implemented to emulate engine and transmission behavior in the absence of a rigid kinematic link between the tracks and the engine or gas generator
I would be careful, the M1 Abrams still features a torque converter, although torque increases linearly you can still stall the gas turbine because it still has a rigid link to the vehicle. Your source for the Abrams steering values mentions a torque converter too.

Hi Stona,
Is the challenger 2 going to be able to trial new steering this dev server?

I do not see it on the initial list.
I do not know if it will be added to the list or not, sorry.

Less a question but more a request for devs to allow the Challengers in general to trial the system as well, as a feedback.

Exactly this, we brits would love to get our hands on testing the new mechanics too!

Also I hope that bug where the throttle stayed on while only turning (pressing A or D) is fixed now

Could you at least pass on to the Devs that a lot of people would like to test the CR2 with regen steering? The Type 10/ 90 with Regen was the true “dreams come true” even for JP players… give those Limey bloody POMEs taste it too at least!
Me too, hopefully the reports were actioned as part of the “refinements”

You’re right, I’m sorry. I do apologise.

when will gaijin rework electric transmission for t25
AFAIK, you Brits got more than only Challenger 2 in your tech tree ;)
Guys, please wait for dev server and pre-eliminary changelog. We will publish list of vehicles that will test the mechanics.

Spamming is a rule breaking behaviour.
Yeah but the Challenger 2 would be the vechile that benfit the most from these changes and it isn’t even getting it tested
Woohoo! I love you 🐌!
But if you’re going to test a differential steering system, I wish you’d also cover the downsides like differential slip. It doesn’t have much impact here because it’s an MBT, but in WWII-era differential steering systems, the differential would slip, causing the vehicle to turn unintentionally while off-roading.
Torque Characteristics of Turboshaft Engines
We are done with the steering mechanisms, let’s get to the changes in engines. To begin, let’s again look at some theory: as you may know, turboshaft engines are fundamentally similar to the jet engines used in aircraft. But turbojet engines use the resulting gas to propel the aircraft forward, while turboshaft engines use the resulting gas to move a separate, free (power) turbine, which then transmits the resulting torque to the tracks.
Unlike piston-based internal combustion engines, turboshaft engines produce immense torque at low rotational speeds (RPM). This happens because the rotational speed of the power turbine shaft is independent of the rotational speed of the gas generator’s turbine shafts, so the gas generator can operate at maximum power output even when the power turbine shaft is stationary or rotating at very low speeds. Under these conditions, torque is at its peak, and as the rotational speed increases, the torque decreases, which you can see on the graphs below.

Before/After. The dependence of the torque and output power of AGT1500 on RPM. Green is torque, red is the output power.
This torque-to-RPM ratio allows for the use of transmissions with fewer gears. We have implemented an accurate full throttle performance curve (the dependency of torque on engine RPM) for turboshaft engines. Consequently, we’ll be removing the intermediate gears previously used on turboshaft-powered tanks, as these are gears that were originally implemented to emulate engine and transmission behavior in the absence of a rigid kinematic link between the tracks and the engine or gas generator. Thus, it will affect all tanks with torque converters and turboshaft engines.
Torque converters function in a similar way, increasing torque when the turbine wheel “slips” relative to the pump wheel. However, these are a topic for another time, as we plan to implement the torque converter mechanic in the upcoming updates.
When you can do that to them, why not also for Electric motos, such as found of Ferdinand or Vk 45.01(P) and more?
