what if the turret basket on Leo2 & Abrams became something like the turret basket on KF41 in Italy tech tree, so the actual hitbox of the Horizontal Stabilizer will only be the upper part of the turret basket.
This is how all the turret baskets should be IMO
this is already how turret baskets are though?
like the only parts of the turret basket on the abrams that have collision is the top, bottom, and the drive systems, most of the extra stuff shown doesnt actually have collision
if you wanna check then go into the X-ray with filter for the drives and move your mouse around it
see, this part does not have collision

but this battery does,
that battery and the drive above it, along with this stuff

are the only parts apart from the top or bottom that have collision
so can we just like stop making assumptions, it looks a lot worse than it is, gaijin could literally say they reverted it, make the 3d models look less detailed and change nothing else and people would believe them
this is how it should be and must be… turret basket =/= horizontal drive… that is just wrong modeling
literally the only difference is size of the turret

all of these parts have collision
and only these two little parts, plus the very top and bottom have collision on the 2a7v

all that has been added compared to a normal tank is the bottom
Yeah, the full turret basket designs are just virtual encyclopedia modelling flexing.
I think it would be clearer if they made the damage model parts darker in colour, for example; making a distinction between cosmetic and damageable, as to avoid confusions like OP’s.
Even IF It’s only the top and bottom that has collision… that’s still more than it should be the turret basket simply should be a separate part especially since both the Abramses and the Leos already have another module the “Hydraulic pump” which being hit disables horizontal and vertical drive…
yeah absolutely this needs to be done, especially considering warthunders main playerbase. but as can be seen in the kf41 example, the basket shows up in the filter when you filter for just ammo and is the same colour as the ammo slide so theres some shenanigans about how they have to do it clearly
yeah probably, or just as we said, it needs to be made less ambiguous, gaijin did themselves no favours with the current implementation

I just made this bug report, and tbh it probably shouldnt be a bug report, probably like a suggestion but thats hard
There has been a response very promptly
