If you could update the CDK and add modding tools, what would they be?

Basically, if you had control over these, What would be the first things you’d add/change?

This could be anything. From adding a steam workshop, having a map maker, or maybe a game mode creation area to test things.

How do you mod WarThunder?

I’m not sure i understand your question?

(This is mainly for PC)
We currently have the CDK which is (While dated and clunky) used to do things like make your own missions, make your own planes like the original a10 and ac130 user missions. This is also how you see the custom missions in the normal server lobbies.
There’s also WT Live where you can see other peoples skins, missions and such if you want that.

Now if your asking how modding would go in wt.
We could probably get things like spitfires being MLP characters, more in depth missions that could be hours long (Things from actual urban combat with insurgents to historical campaigns like dessert storm)
and much more.

ok, how do you make your own planes?

I think from what i remember, they used blender for the actual model and texture of the plane. They they Imported that into the cdk where they edited the actual physics of the plane. Not to sure though

If I could update the CDK,

  • I’d want to add more assets like what we see in Gaijin built maps.
  • I’d like to see more assets available to add to maps like those in many of the Gaijin maps.
  • The ability to raise or lower water levels in rivers, ponds, and lakes.
  • The ability to raise and lower land in areas like hills or depressions and even cliffs.
  • The ability to move boundaries on maps.
  • Fix the animation error caused by clicking on the “Show Unit Assets” button which crashes the CDK.
