IA 58A Pucará — Argentina’s Fortress

give us a non-premium version dayum

Dumbfire missiles but still missiles.

Id put it somewhere at 6.0 in GRB
It will not be its historical BR range, but it will make it somewhat semi historical and better for a feel of the game.
Also, other countries CAS options at 4.3 pale in comparision to Puccara, even Thunderbolts.

premium OP slop unfortunately

Apart from it isnt “slop” though is it? Slop - low quality mass produced usually AI content.

Pucara has been in the works for years and is actually a pretty decent model/not too buggy (though some of the rockets seem to be bugged and are way too fast)

Premium, yes.

OP? With the oddly acting rockets I would say so (though if you went with the bombs I would say it isnt too excessive for GRB antics)

Slop? Not really no.

TBH I am kind of surprised gaijin didnt go for 6.7/7.0 with the mini bullpup mclos missile (1/3rd the HE) to be a German variation on the SK60 with RB05a.

So Brit’s could get the SA one and Japan could get the Indonesian one : P

Not to mention the 1945 t54 prototype or the t44s produced in 1945

I mean, South Africa and Indonesia would be fine as skins to download on WT Live, just for fun.
However, even though it’s a cause I don’t support, you could still get the captured Pucara.

Regarding the rockets, I know that the maximum speed of the 57 mm Asp is 300 m/s, I do not have that information about the speed of the 105 mm Pamperos. Pucará also carried 16 T10 rockets in its beginnings (8 per wing).

Sobre los cohetes sé que la velocidad máxima del Áspid de 57 mm es de 300 m/s, de la velocidad de los Pamperos de 105 mm no tengo esa información. También el Pucará en sus inicios portaba 16 cohetes T10 (8 por ala).

I did not buy the IA-58A Pucará, but I did try it and the BRP bombs do not deploy the parachute.

The first centurion was in early 1944 for prototype so people really don’t want to open that can of worms

Historical matchmaking works fine when the equipment is costed according to it’s capabilities - so an IS-34 might cost you 200 pts to field, a T34/76 only 25 or 30 pts.

And you play a game where you get limited points to spend.

For the sake of argument let’s assume you get 200 pts - so do you want 1 IS-3 and your game is over when you die, or do you want to feld multiple T34/76’s?? Or some variation of other vehicles at various costs.

This sort of match making has been used in literally hundreds of board, table-top and computer wargames for over 50 years - I started gaming in 1972 and it was pretty standard already by then.

Arguments againt it on this forum invariably come from people who can’t see past each player getting to field equal numbers of tanks and equal numbers on the 2 sides.

should have been a tech tree premiums should not be unique i refer to premium slop as unnecessary screwing over the tech tree

A tabletop game is not WT. You are thinking of war games that have a big swing cost system, that’s fine, now ask yourself how many F2P MMO shooters have such a system.

None - because they are optimised for making money, not providing balanced games.

Not the point - it is just “whataboutism”!!

there is no reason why they can’t - sure it would be a different game, but it would still be a perfectly reasonable game

And it’s not jsut table top games - it is computer games, board games too - not all of them to be sure, but there’s plenty of examples.

ETA: so apparenty there’s a few MMO shooters that use “skill based” balancing - that is just another version of points

They are optimised for making money, which requires as much competitive parity as possible. Unlike war games, where balance can be asymmetric, people who play shooters get fed up really quickly with anything other than symmetrical balance.

But it is the point. You’re comparing WT to a fundamentally different game type just because they both have tanks in it.

If you want to experience the war game type of set up in a modern videogame, look into The Troop. I can’t recommend it enough, absolutely outstanding gem of a game.

If you want to experience it in WT, your best bet is one of a few milsim custom battle community enthusiasts. They organise some really cool shit… But the fact that they attract such a small amount of players compared to the standard game modes tells you everything.

Gaijin ain’t stupid. There’s a reason this game is such a massive success and has been so for many years.

  1. Its not even German.
  2. There are plenty of unique premiums, especially if a vehicle is either a) captured or b) not used by said country and only there due to a limited link (such as this)

Not slop, at all, lol. Its also arguably the “worst” version of the plane, there are other versions that exist and can be added to the TT side with modifications to the model with IIRC superior engines and also 30mm DEFA cannons.

Wait and see.

Honestly I 100% expected it as a BP plane.

The Pucará can also go to France, to that country it was taken for resistance tests, engine tests at the Turbomeca Facilities and homologation of French weapons such as Matra F1 and F2 Rocket Launchers, Alkan 530 cartridge/grenade launcher, CC-420 Pod (a 30 mm DEFA cannon), 125 kg SAMP BD 10 bombs, 250 kg SAMP model 25, BLG-66 Belouga bomb, Durandal bomb, even in the “Charlie” version it carried 2 Matra R-550 Magic missiles.

This applies for almost all of these subtree stories. Once Gajin decided that nation X goes to nation Y, your can’t do anything.
