I looked at one of your replays and it looks like you are having issues locking people with ACM. There is actually a trick to this, lock the plane with IR ACM and then switch back to regular radar. It is much more relaible and the ACM frame is actually on your crosshair. See video (I instantly get lock once I switch to IR):
It should also be noted that you can use larger radar ranges such as 90km, this makes it possible to lock people way before the merge. This makes it possible to spend time trying to lock the perfect opponent.
One thing you can try is to lead the target from a top down or side aspect shot so the R-60s seeker is hard up against it’s gimbal limit while tracking the target, that way when they pop flares they fly out of the seekers FOV before it can change course to track the flares, it’s not fool proof, but it dose help a bit.
