I am wondering about the differences between Eurofighters and Rafale, what is better overall?

in-game, since this conversation is relevant to the game

Ok well in game the Rafael is better rn, but this guy is grinding a new tree, and that could take a long time to do

Things can change

Not touching top tier is more recommended

Even considering the possible additions in the future…
the rafale will be superior

Meteor, MICA IR, IRIS-T you name it.
Rafale will be better

In what way? The only thing I can think of is maneuverability, and rcs reduction

missile kit.
as well as flight performance.

eurofighter sucks ergonomics wise due to gaijin not being able to model the rudder correctly and will always be shafted by amraam pull (or lack thereof).

MICA IR will be superior in normal air RB scenarios due to having DL.
both get meteor (iirc rafale can carry more as well)

Oh I totally forgot where talking about in game

I clarified twice which I was talking about…

Ik, I’m very bad with paying attention

I’ve noticed

I’m working on it, I plan to see a psychiatrist

Ok but doesn’t the typhoon hold more missiles?
Oh, it’s the same

it’s not how many missiles but what kind.

The AIM-120 is one of the worse Fox-3s while the MICA is at the top

Tbh, that’s something best kept to yourself. (privacy reasons and whatnot)
But I wish you good luck there

Barely.

Typhoon can run 2x Fox-2s and 8x Fox-3s.

Rafale can run 8x Fox-3s or swap some out for Fox-2s.

Missile quality though heavily favours the Rafale at the moment.

So for now Rafale is better and grinding French tree is more profitable long term?

Both are strong within the meta but with vastly different playstyles.

Eurofighter excells in the same type of BVR the su-30sm2 does but even better due to superior FM, but with a slightly worse radar (altrough better scan patterns).

The sheer speed and agility make it the strongest FM for defensive flight, the all you can eat CM’s are also nice (although you need to spam a bit more BOL chaff compared to normal/large chaff).

The playstyle it excells at is at being high and fast and push people in BVR and then instead of notching (often you will be attacked by multiple angles so notching is suicide) you just turn around and bleed the missiles out of speed while doing mach 1.5 rolls into lower altitudes.

It’s not at its element in closer ranges because it lack good off-bore missiles, unlike the rafale and su-30sm2.

The Rafale is the opposite in playstyle but with a similar FM, just not as fast because you are hindered by RIP speed. It has a more conventional radar that can’t look over the shoulder, but as long as you can get a lock, the micas will turn over the shoulder. Micas have unmatched agility and accelerate the fastest for those close range encounters.

The best strategy is to make yourself look “unaware” and punish those who get too close, avoid pointing your nose into the enemy you want to attack so they don’t feel as threatened, to make them overextend into your lethal range.

Then just fire your mica at a high angle without pointing your nose at the target, so your target will take a second or two before realising the missile he is watching you fire into NOT his direction is actually turning into him.

This is the same strategy you would use with Mig-29 and Su-27 equipped with R-77 at lower BRs

The Su-30SM2 is a more well-rounded jet that does both jobs very well, just not as specialized in each as the EF2000 and the rafale. (I’m not going into details because you only asked about the other 2)

In a 1v1 the EF2000 is the worst of the 3. But in a gunfight its the best (not that it really matters)

Rafale because it’s gotten several fake buffs in the past and had accurate reports to bring it back into reality shot down for a while

He can just grind GB to avoid going against the Rafale (most of the time) while still retaining all of the benefits of the Eurofighter.

Rafale doesn’t have IRIS-T, you might mean the MICA NG EM/MICA NG IR.

Sadly Rafale only carries 4 Meteors while I believe the EF carries 6 so the EFT has the advantage there, and will retain the BVR advantage now that the Rafale recently got nerfed in supercruise performance.
