Is 1941 the start of the WWII?

in educated world that should be 1939

Technically the World War Two as we know started in 1941 during the Barbarossa Operation for the Soviets as the Great Patriotic War.

Yes, that’s the point. Zhukovsky participated in World War II from 1941. It’s hard to call it a start.

Maybe I wrote in a way that you misunderstood me. What I mean is, for the Soviets, the World War Two started in 1941 named as Great Patriot War and ended 1945 with the Invasion of the Reichstag.

yep, somebody didnt want to recognise war as war…

They did acknowledged the war, but initially they were neutral, I was going to attach the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact but maybe this document is easier comprehension on why it’s dated 1941 and not 1939:

https://msuweb.montclair.edu/~furrg/research/mlg09/soviet_neutrality.html

[…] In effect they accepted the USSR’s claim that it was neutral in the conflict.

*during the 1939-1941 period.

[…] its expedition into Poland was to protect minorities where there was no remaining government.

Obviously we all know by a fact that this justification was part of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact as Germany and USSR would divide the Polish’s territory between the two powers to ensure non-agression.

that still called war in educated world.
invading a country is more than a war

Then, in the educated world, the World War Two should’ve started in 1st of December of 1918 with the occupation of Rhineland (German territory)?

In the general public eye it was invasion of a sovereign territory but a way to pay debt with repair to the winners of the World War One.

WW2 started in September 1939.

Zhukovsky participated in Winter War Between USSR and Finland from 1939-1940. AFAIK Winter War is considered as part of WW2 (local conflict, but part of bigger one).

Well, if you count the Finnish War too.
As always, news for different communities is presented differently, hence the question.

I kinda wish these sales were announced well ahead of time, as many of us do not just have money floating around for unnecessary expenses. I like having WW2 props, but I’ve only put aside money for gaming purposes in may and this prop would have been something that would have been perfect for me (Domestic designed soviet aircraft for when I wanna fly soviets in ASB, I don’t wanna fly lend-lease stuff given they can fight americans causing confusion on who is who).

Indeed - only invading Poland to save it.

In China WW2 started 1937…

Only where the educated world is trying to be an argumentative wally.

No - it was an agreed term of an armistice, the treaty of Versailles and a parallel treaty covering the occupation.

Now if you want to characterise WW2 as WW1 Part 2 then there’s good reasons for that - but it doesn’t make them actually the same

WWII officially began with the invasion of Poland by Germany and the Soviet Union, but in 1941 the Soviet Union changed sides because Germany betrayed it.

The type 28 is a lot of fun, highly recommended plane if you ask me

I’m talking about the World War Two in the Soviet perspective.

And I from the perspective of the entire world except the Soviet Union.

In Europe: Yes.
WW 2 started on September 3rd as UK and France declared war on Germany.
This declaration (and following declarations of UK colonies like Canada etc.) created a World War - without that it would have been just a regional war.
