Premium vehicle and time was already suggested, so did wagera. Im just gonna put out my two cents on the matter:
If youre gonna get anything, get it on sale.
Best solution is to combine both premium time and vehicle
If you cant get both, Premium time is better if
- you wanna spade vehicles while making money,
- if you know youre gonna use it
- if you want to play more than one nation/BR
However premium plane has advantage of, well, not running out. If you get tired of playing WT, you can take a month long break, premium vehicle will still be there, unlike your premium time.
Wagers are excellent extra source of income, but they can be rather luck based. 5 and 10 kills wager are essentially free money, albeit in ground.

While you can do wagers in air RB, the way they are set up makes it easier to do them in arcade.
Say you have a “kill 5 units wager”. You bet the max stake of 10.000SL (anything else is really wasteful). The next three missions, you need to kill 5 enemies in each mission. If you manage, at the end you get 100.000SL for the completed wager. So you just earned 90.000SL. You can fail twice (strike: not getting 5 kills). The third strike terminates the wager and you get payed the level you reached. Wagers only work, if you have a rank 3+ in your lineup.
Unstoppable is also a nice source of 490.000SL.

5 kills, 10 kills, best squad wagers (just get a friend or two) are basically free money in GRB.
If you have a decent light lineup (there is one at 7.7 in France) you can try the wingman wager as well by spotting.

also mode multipliers apply. 5 kill wager turns into 3 kill wager in RB; 10 kill wager turns into 5 kill wager.

Yeah if you can somehow scrape together 3 or 4 friends the best squad is pretty much guaranteed at least in ground.

In conjunction with this, make sure all (or at least the most expensive) vehicles needing repair are in a single preset for each nation, and that preset is the currently selected one for each nation.
But wait, I can’t go to battle with a damaged aircraft can I?
No - but if you have a lineup you can use the undamaged vehicles in the lineup.
Basically - vehicles repair much faster if they are in a lineup that is the one currently front and foremost for each nation.

Oh alright, does that apply if I play air rb when only one vehicle is used?
Honestly the best way is to find a premium vehicle with a good SL Boost that you can play well and, more importantly, that you genuinely enjoy playing.
That way its a pleasure to rack up some SL and time flies when you’re doing it.
To illustrate the point, if I pull up my service record and sort by SL generated we can see the top vehicles here:
The top 6 vehicles are all premiums, and mostly planes. The top scorer is the MiG I used to grind two different free plane events, and I’m a Ground Realistic main so take that with a grain of salt.
After it is my beloved A.C.I, a mere rank II BR 3.0 tank has generated over 8mil SL for me. Not only do I really enjoy playing it, but its very good when you know how to use it. It doesnt even have a particularly high SL booster either, only 100%. The Hellcat and Corsair below it both have more than twice as much of a booster.
Anyway as long as you find at least one vehicle you truly enjoy that has some kind of booster built in, like a premium or event vehicle, you shouldn’t have too much trouble getting SL out of it. Its better than buying premium because it never goes away. Since you like Air RB consider that MiG, I find it sits in a nice sweet spot of technology. It has Radar missiles for head-ons, but it the radar isn’t super complicated, and you don’t have to learn how to use countermeasures because it doesn’t have any. With a 750% SL booster you don’t have to be a great pilot to get money from it, as my record proves.

Yes - so you can have ever other slot filled with something repairing faster, and just swap planes in and out to give you the one you want to use.

Alright, tho are there ways to efficiently gain golden eagles without spending real money in the game?

Kind of, its just not as efficient without the boosters, but if you find a vehicle you can consistently play well it can still generate SL without being premium. Go back to the picture in my previous post and look at number 7, the Fox. It’s one of my favorite tanks, its not premium, and its generated 4mil SL. Then look at number 10, the SARC MkVI, another tank I really like thats neither premium nor high tier, and its made 2.5mil.
Technically if you play the event to get an event vehicle like my A.C.I you dont have to spend money either, but the current event is almost over so if you haven’t been playing it you wont be able to catch up for free.
It’s also worth noting that Naval has consistently higher SL boosters than any other game mode, so if you fancy a bit of ship combat it can be very profitable.
Good to know, but my question was, can I earn golden eagles (not silver lions) in some way so I can then purchase premiums without buying the golden eagles with real money?
Oh, my bad I misread it.
I know there are some ways to get Golden Eagles, but none of them are anything I’d call efficient. The best you can do is use a content creator’s code for a discount or wait for a sale but that still entails spending money.

No - the isn’t realy any efficient way to get GE.
Technically selling event vehicles, but thats not efficient, as simply going to work will net you more GE per hour than if you grinded the event vehicle and sold it.

What about wagers? Aren’t there wagers that reward with golden eagles?
