Not really. J7W1 is a hard plane to master cuz it’s worse than a P-47 when it’s flying slow, and also being a single-engine + relatively heavy affects the acceleration.
Ofc if u’re flying at 670kph it turns like an I-15, but that speed gets drained in seconds if u turn too much and it’s hard to regain that speed if u don’t Boom N’ Zoom.
Also not to mention: J7W1 was designed as an “interceptor”, and it isn’t an “interceptor” ingame.
The Hornet currently been assigned with a CLmax of only 1.0, one of the lowest in the prop and it is even lower than most of low aspect ratio swept back wing 2nd Gen Jet. Which had caused the aircraft to be very bad at turning — the aircraft is extremely nerfed at the very beginning of its flight model.
This figure cannot be true, a normal CLmax for Hornet should be somewhere betweeen 1.2 - 1.4 as we see on other props. Yet the low lift may also cause this aircraft to have low induced drag in turning, which helps its energy retention. I would suggest the airplane’s flight model to be fixed before subject to a possible BR change.
