HMS Vanguard: End of an Epoch!

She isn’t? And why is that a good thing?

Historically accurate, and i think the higher shell drop is actually beneficial in naval battles currently.

Caroline not cavalier

Maybe, would be good to have both though, one for slamming broadisdes with and one for plunging fire

I’ve been waiting for this very moment.

Also when do we get the St Vincent class vanguard?

A better shell would offer both in one, much more preferable to a faster shell in my opinon.

Cavalier is still around. at Chatham docks. HMS Caroline is also a ww1 ship not ww2

Yeah mb tired moment

they are both C class so you weren’t too far off, Cavalier is just what a C class was for ww2 until the 60s

Are there any carriers in UK?

I’m lucky enough to live within a semi-reasonable walking distance of this beauty, its a bit rundown on the inside, the places where its machinery used to be is almost always in at least foot or two of water, but lockdown wasn’t very kind to the place either

hell i’ll be working there for a bit in a few months

Sadly i don’t think the Cavalier would even fit into the game, with its stats being worse than the Vega., especially in Post-Refit config removing a turret and the torps, unless we get seacats to swipe Pe-8s from the sky

Do you mean currently (then 2 Queen Elizabeth class carriers) or historically (and if so do we go by individual ships or class and would seaplane/assault carriers also count)?

I mean any preserved museum carriers

My bad should’ve worded it better

It’s fine

Unfortunately no, all carriers (and battleships) were not preserved.

There are several other ships and boats (MTB 102, HMS Belfast, HMS medusa) but no carriers.

No, all were either scrapped or sunk, with the last remaining ww2 era royal navy carrier being HMS Venerable, scrapped in 2000 after being in the Netherlands and argentinian navy (as venticinco de mayo). I have just come across HMS vengance, which was sold to brazil and then scrapped in 2004

Shame, would’ve been cool to have a chance to see different WW2 carrier design doctrines

as museums? no… the closest we have it the fleet air arm museum in Yeovil which has a hangar painted to look like a carrier.

we scuttle/scrap all old carriers annoyingly.

And battleships

I’m still mad about Warspite

That is unless you count the vikrant, which was scrapped in 2014

Yeah, personally I hope they make at least one nuclear carrier a museum ship
