bol pods flares and chaff have been nerfed a while ago
now a small flare/chaff is basically 1/4 of the effectiveness of a normal sized flare/chaff
I just want to point out that when I made this post, I had to make do with what was available at the time, and when more brochures and manuals became available on the internet (such as the more accurate max G value of the R-27), I couldn’t update the post because for some reason it was bugged on the old forum. Thanks for understanding.

Aren’t those just mockups/training missiles?
They have the gray nose cover. (I’m not at all knowledgeable in the subject, i just saw the color of the nose of the missiles i vaguely remembered something about those with gray fronts being non-functional)

it’s actually the source that I used for my first attempt of bug reporting the r-77 no launch limits, but it got rejected as it’s jsut one secondary source.
(second attempt went through cause I just used a mig-29smt brochure)
It’s a book on all previous russian planes/missile and the like made by a bunch of ex engineers at vympel, sukhoi/etc.
I highly recommend, great read on the history of russian aviation in general. Has lots of technical information on stuff as well.
though you need to use a translator

If this will actually go trough, might be a substantial buff for SMT and 29M
for any platform with the r77
I would disagree. N001 and N019 maximum radar gimbal is pretty much in the current launch zone for R-77. Only real difference would be ability to send it in mem/trk but it ain’t MICA, so missile most likely won’t turn fast enough to lock the target without a DL info from a carrier
just wait for a 27M with the mech bars
Would love to get it, but i really doubt that gaijin will bring it. Most likely they will just make PESA bars with static dish for Su-27M because it will save them development time
nah that would take more time than copy pasting the zhuk and adjusting the range values a bit
they already have early bars on MKM, just adjust scan zone
