So the missile was built for Roland systems, but did it require new radar sets or something similar?
The reason i’m asking is because i much prefer the FlaRakPz as a platform compared to the FlaRakRad due to the sheer size and weakness to small calibre MGs. If i understand this post correctly, then techincally the HFK-L2 should be able to be fired from the FlaRakPz as well? (Well, in that case it could probably fire the VT-1 as well…)
For clarification, the HFK-L1, L2 and KV were Roland derivatives, which is why they could be used as is from the Roland systems. Roland was made by Euromissile.
However, the VT-1 is a different missile with little to no relation to the Roland missiles. VT-1 was made by Thales. Euromissile acquired some VT-1 missiles and offered a modified Roland system to Germany that could utilise the VT-1 (without the permission of Thales). Thales sued them, but lost the case.
The modification was not carried out en masse, however, so the existence of the VT-1 on the FRR is basically an experimental one. It is not known if the irl system Euromissile adapted the VT-1 to was a FRR or a FRPz; however, most likely it was the FRR since it is more advanced and spacious.

So there is nothing FCS wise preventing the FlakPz from firing the HFK from its Roland turret? The same track and command radar can be used by the HFK-KV? What about dimensions wise, can they fit in the magazine tubes of the Roland turret?
just a simple registration of the missile into the FCS, or maybe not even that.
yes however the HFK-KV is a special missile since it shifts to IIR guidance in its terminal phase at which point it would stop receiving guidance commands from the launcher. This property would have to be made as a software update to any launcher that would be made to use the HFK-KV.
dimensions wise it is within limits of the standard Roland Missile tube and can fit into the magazine. Emphasis was placed upon compatibility since this program was supposed to cut down the cost of procuring an entire new system by simply upgrading the missile.

heh, i would honestly either get a 4 tube FRR or the 6-tube skyguard-m since the poor FRPz doesnt even have a stab nor TVD. although i have my reservations about those features not existing irl.
we know the FRR and FRPz can guide the missile on the move, but not fire on the move. this is because while the launcher isnt stabilised, the Track radar and the optics are gyro stabilised.
it is possible that the NDV/SLE upgrade gave the rolands a horizontal stabiliser to allow for full guide on the move capability
I forgot about the Skyguard, your suggestion was accepted fairly recently, hopefully it means they are looking into it to replace the FlakBus 2 shooter Roland for a 6 shooter SAM :)

Maybe since they absolutely butchered the SLM.
The skyguard with a 50km ACLOS/SACLOS missile with IIR terminal guidance sounds like good compensation.

The cat is out of the bag now. This is the perfect time for considering newer hypersonic additions. Mind you, this wouldn’t be as OP as Pantsir SM as it would still be relegated to a Roland system.

now Pantsir SM-SV is ingame, i think Gaijin must add this or most NATO nations will starve of hunger after watching a Mach 5 dart fly to the target they have been locking for 20secs.

The main problem is that this would be limited to Roland, and it would be bottlenecked by Roland’s radar set, so you’ll never get the full 50+ km range out of it. Still would be nice to have as heli deleter.
Or it can just have a separate radar vehicle

I personally prefer IRIS-T SLM/X and dedicated SAM spawns for such, but I agree smth has to be done.
