So I’ve noticed a camera bug during take off since the last graphical camera placement update. Probably over a month now. I’ve been hoping someone would report it and fix it but nothing has happened yet. Its been several months, and the month ago patch only made it worse. the degree of camera studder varies per aircraft. but for some reason when you take off. the camera placement is so low it almost drags the ground. The simple fix is to place the take off camera angle about an aircraft length higher up and let it level out to its original position once you are wheels up. The camera stutters and glitches as you take off. And as I’ve stated its worse depending on the plane. The lower the tail the worse it is. I’m mainly an air realistic player, but even in ground battles, this stutter is present and is enough to make me nauseous. I know its once per battle but there has to be a way to adjust the camera up to a set footage above the runway during take off that would prevent this stutter. it makes the game look incredibly unpolished and the studder is enough, in the yak at least to make me have to close my eyes to take off to prevent nausea. something that has cause at least 2 crashes into teammates so far.
you sure youre not just seeing the propeller of the teammate behind you?
yea no its not the prop. although i have noticed the camera has had more seeing inside the engines of the players behind me than there used to be. but what im seeing is as soon as you start lifting off the camera just jitters violently. once you a few feet off the ground it goes away. Its just incredibly annoying and the visual jumping just makes me feel sick when i see it
You can bug report it here (just search a bit first so that you don’t report something that is already reported and known about): (Gaijin.net // Issues)
A guide on how to report bugs can be found here: ([Navigation] Technical Knowledge Base | War Thunder Wiki)
i appreciate it. i was trying to find where to report bugs so i could do it correctly. I never use the forum lol. I will certainly head there and report it if i cant find a duplicate report.
Happy to help :)
Reporting bugs can be a bit of a hassle sometimes depending on what kind of bug it is, i recommend reading through the guide as there are several steps that might not seem that intuitive but are necessary for the dev’s to be able to investigate the issue.
For example screenshots might not seem relevant if the issue only can be seen through video/playing but it’s a critical thing they need as it places a tag in the game logs close to where the bug occurred, without it it’s almost impossible for them to find the place in the code the issue stems from as from the moment you start the game until you close it dussins of event’s (and lines of text in the log) are saved PER SECOND.
I returned to Air RB after a long time and noticed the same issue: the camera shakes during takeoff and touches the ground."
It appeared in this update:
(the “above quoted lines” reference was to this line in the update notes:
)
yea i remember this patch note. it got worse after this patch lol
Having the other aircraft on takeoff go “through” your camera view-point also looks really bad. Seeing half rendered plane bits and very low res textures looks terrible.
Anyway, I did the “I have the same problem” on your bug report. See how it goes…
I agree lol. seeing engine blocks and bits of plane come through your camera is horrible looking. Its such an easy fix. Literally move the camera pov up about 10 feet and problem solved lol
I sympathize with you, this issue actually predates the Tusk Force update, and it only got more irritating afterwards.
But let’s be honest, submitting a ticket is utterly pointless. Nothing makes it past the hubris of those gatekeeping the system, and I’ve no desire to waste my time just to be ignored with condescension.
