I personally believe it should be 9.7. Other Cockerill-designed turrets should drop alongside it. They’re no longer going to be competitive in their roles at those BRs.

It’s not much different from a stingray, some a little better, some a little worse. In my opinion, it’s even worse than a stingray, because with similar characteristics, it has longer reload, one of the longest, so yes, it shouldn’t above 9.7
What are the sources for this tank and turret anyway? I opened a brochure from a manufacturer website, they claim 12-16 shots per minute.

I get it, well, with the current BR of these tanks, it looks really sad. Where did 5 seconds come from in the first place, or did the developers just not find the information and bet on a random basis?

Different turret
It seems to be one family of turrets.
The Harimau also has a different turret, but it was given a 7.5 reload. The same story with the Boxer. The only file mentioning the automatic loader was posted above, but it only applies to the CTCV.
The autoloader for all three turrets is the same. @Thomas_Belgium mentioned that there was shorter 5s reloads for it, but that this isn’t the safe/sustained operating speed.
I think they probably just forgot XC-8 as part of this change. But maybe they have better documentation here for the shorter reload for XC-8 so they kept it, but are missing something for the others.

Idk at this point
I am not even sure whether 8rpm is cycling-rate (how long it actually takes to load with immediate firing after loading is completed + immediate loading after firing) or whether it includes starting the loading process, redesignating a target, aiming at it and then firing.
UVZ’s T-90S brochure for example lists max RoF as 7rpm (8.57s) but cycling-rate is ofc lower than that (since 7rpm figure includes the things mentioned above).
CMI hasnt explicitly listed the RoF for XC-8 turret afaik, but it’s likely gonna be the same as CT-CV.
