if its a squadron people will riot
Honestly I don’t think agm 88 would be added to the f14 all I find on it was cancelled before successful testing and only mounting points were made and yeah it’s either gonna be squadron or tech tree folder with the f18C or the f14’s
Yeah I just added that because having etc… after 2 examples sounds kinda weird.
should have added the aim9x instead of agm88
give it mavericks and the sniper ATP since yall are so hellbent on giving it fictional armaments
Mavs and the Sniper Pod were never mounted to an F-14, while the AGM-88 HARM was. The Aim-9X is backwards compatible with Aim-9M carriers too.
False equivalency at it’s finest.
Also, welcome to the F-14D thread. What a great first impression.
the adapter pylon is so cursed
That’s an F-4B testbed, not an F-4J/S.
That’s a YF-16 iirc, which had also been seen with wingtip sparrows lmao. Different aircraft, can’t get such capabilities ingame.
yup, no radar in that thing
Not really giving fictional armament theirs doc and article that let us know that the araam was successful tested on the f14A with apg71 and digital avionics also saying 9x is also capable on the f14D especially with irst system
the only thing that mentions the HARM being on any F-14
Given that Gaijin hasn’t even put a single thought into modeling dual plane for the Aim-54, I see it as imperative that the F-14D is added with Aim-120s. Without them, the plane will suffer heavily.
Taking the F-14D to Mach 2.2(+): https://youtu.be/Qo1FirOR_Yo?si=oS4G_pYtncLdLVDw
Gaijin thinks they know more than this guy btw
it can go mach 2.34 as well
As someone who’s effectively spaded the F-14B for AirRB… (god help me)
We need the F-14D. Specifically, we need the F-14D with AMRAAMs, the APG-71, and properly working IRST.
Speaking of, some small bits of info on the IRST showed it had a scan size of 150 degrees (75|75)
https://www.forecastinternational.com/archive/disp_old_pdf.cfm?ARC_ID=455
Given that the IRST system was also used on the Eagles and Strike Eagles, I should be able to get an estimate range at the very least. Can’t rely on the 190 mile stat from the interview.
Possibly an 18 second turn from an F-14B during an airshow: https://youtu.be/nCcO6WVlanQ?si=iFoLajjnSU7sGVaw&t=56
I just want to mention, as an addition to the F-14D’s proposed camouflages/skins: while it wasn’t technically an F-14D airframe, I think it should receive the livery of the F-14B (BuNo. 157982) prototype, which served as a testbed for many different technologies that ultimately paved the way for the F-14D’s development. On its rudder fins, it carried the name Super Tomcat.
The livery really rocks the vintage look on the F-14 , and I can imagine it being added as a semi-historical camouflage obtainable from the Gaijin Market for the F-14D in the future. I actually saw this aircraft in person at the USS Intrepid museum a few years ago, and it was really impressive to see its size along with the AIM-54 firsthand.
Yay, im the 1000th vote
haha! not anymore! I unvoted then revoted! >:)
Edit: Also comment 400!
