Gotta wait a couple of years - 25 years for a classification level to expire!

Funnily enough, however, I can view it in Australia. Maybe the export restriction has expired?

Export restrictions probably for countries not friendly to US

Or it’s just fully available online and the restriction is completely worthless

There’s a 0% chance Iran doesn’t have the F-14D manual. Publicly available VPNs can get you access to it very easily. Unfortunately, Gaijin can’t do anything about it because of that label.

Nah , i don’t think it has much to do with that… the manual .
Not even the APG-71. There are enough data in the net that you can make the plane as much realistic as the others (none of them is 100% anyway and many things are guesswork anyway or from 3d party sites) .
The problem is…AIM-54s.
There is no point bringing a F-14D that must go 13+ BR anyway , but give it the nerfed Phoenixes we have now. And if you give it un-nerfed Phoenix community will go crazy. They still can’t with F90 , imagine something that is as fast, but pulls better and has ECCM capabilities…! And with the right flight profile , aka topping you down. Yes… with that playerbase.
So , either they release it and go all the way or they don’t.

found something

Base livery must not be CAG birds.

I also would like to see BuNo.164603.
It was literally last tomcat that landed in US.

wrong… next update looks to be naval focused, sorry.

yeah I saw. Kinda upset this is kinda a nothing update but that just gives me more hope next update is navy jets Mig-29K, Superhornet, F-14D, J10C etc…

IMO, it should be the low-visibility Tomcatters livery like the one shown below. The Tomcatters are simply too iconic to leave out. The good news is that the Felix the Cat mascot design is in the public domain, so Gaijin likely won’t run into major copyright issues. That said, it’s important not to label it as “Felix the Cat,” since the name is still trademarked and owned by DreamWorks, and therefore protected under copyright law.

Was browsing around www.detailandscale.com and came across their latest F-14 Tomcat publication, which references the F-14D NATOPS manual for performance figures and technical specifications. 👀

While the author might not include exhaustive details, this book could be a strong secondary source, just a step below a primary one, while also still being legally accessible.

For anyone interested, here’s the link to the book. I’m thinking of getting the e-book version soon to see if it contains any new or useful information.

That Rate of climb for the F-14B and D are amazing… Again rivaling stuff at the top of those records like the Eurofighter Typhoon. From a carrier deck to max altitude in ~90 seconds… Crazy stuff.

I heard the “classified” document for the F-14D that was leaked was actually public information and unclassified. However selling/redistribution was not allowed

is this factoring in channel loss because F110-GE-400 produces 22,751Lbs of thrust ingame which is loss of 5,249LBs which is a loss of 18.75% of thrust if 28000LBS of thrust is accurate this is for one engine

Found out that technically the F14D’s had NCTR, using a system called AN/ASX-2 TRISAT

Tried getting info from DTIC about it, but it seems the link was so long deleted or no longer being able to be accessed

Yeah the manual mentions NCTR is present in the censored part of the manual. Knowing it’s name is great though. If I remember correctly, it might be on the F-14A and B too.

Did you try the wayback machine?

this amount of channel loss makes zero sense as the F14 engine intake is literally a straight shot there’s no curve to it

Found it, managed to upload it in my Drive

That i don’t know, and it isn’t clear from the Hearing i sent either. Only for the AN/APG-71 for the F14D is made certain
