Ground Vehicle info no longer displays the armor thickness

Ground Vehicle info no longer displays the armor thickness of ground vehicles/Tanks.
Why is that?
Where can we find that info now? Besides from the Information page on War Thunder Wiki.

It was very handy to quickly visually consult what the thickness of the armor was for a vehicle.
Now… Nothing…

If i remember correctly the armor thickness shown in the stat card wasn’t accurate a lot of the time as it only took into account the first plate if there were more than one and also didn’t take into account if the plate was angled or not.

You can look at the armor in the protection analysis section.

Thank you for your reply.
Though I agree that the precision was lacking, and I can’t gauge (even an estimate of thickness) in the Protection Analysis though to take away all of that info is rather shortsighted and I have to wonder if those who make the decisions actually play the game.
I would often base the vehicle choices based on gun and armor penetration in relation to the BR and tank types available in that BR as some of the tanks.

Being how many of the changes are take the American M4A3 (105) is at BR 3.0 though there are no other 3.0s to create a line up. (not to mention the quiet nerfs happening in the back ground) keep in mind that this may not be the best example. but there are many such examples.

Take the KV220, Gaijin, a few years back, changed that Tank to BR 6.0 or 6.3 and it was lacking (so they put it back to 5.7, as what it is now facing renders it moot) but for those who spent much end up getting a nerfed (major) for a vehicle that they had expected a certain performance and took the time to learn to how to play it… anyhow, I digress.

Any suggestions would be appreciated but removing that feature is, in my opinion, a mistake.

Thanks again for the feedback

i agree removing information about armor thickness is absolute nonsense. Does the person who invented this even play the game? what is this nonsense the tiger has 100mm armor, it should be in the information and how much the increase is at what angle, that’s what the analysis in the garage is for. where everyone can see it. but it is necessary to have the following basic information in the machine information. this is the worst gaijin has done in the last 8 years. everything is more and more confusing and complicated, and people are surprised that new players uninstall it right away. this is stupid. and the new crew design is the same. confusing and confusing. this is a disaster. I’m nervous and want to delete this game.

I would rather have “bad” info than none!

Yeah, legitimately the worst change that has been done in ages. The fact that I now have to look at the armor viewer to get even a basic understanding of armor thickness is insane. Why the heck would displaying a tooltip for what “steel armor” is be more useful than even basic ufp thickness?

Is all about money !!! They (snail) remove that info because tanks with no armor was easy to spot and not pick by players. If players not pick then they don\t die fast so no angry players to buy premium vehicles… GET IT !? Probably I’ll delete this fu…king shity game. On a daily basis the mak it worse and worse to play. But gues what not on my money so bye bye snail !

The new ones won’t know this is better, they won’t understand the concepts of armor, bullet penetration or turn time they won’t know any single thing, heck I figured it out because it was all right there plain, simple, direct and quick,it took me less then a minute to see, oh this one is better I will upgrade to this one,but no they removed it,what do you think that they, the new ones will know this stuff and go see oh this has more turn time, this has more penetration, this has more armor,No ,i was introduced to all of this because of the tech tree stat cards,I then knew all of this because of those,I then figured all of this stuff out,but know they won’t know, they won’t be able to kill,or stay alive for more then one shot and they won’t know why he kills me one shot while I can’t in ten,I was introduced to these concepts because of it ,even know I only use that I never used the complicated sht it was the best,I would quickly in less then a minute compare of all of the stuff of tanks the was going to upgrade to and I would compare it with the others in less then a minute and I would figure out

No no they will just leave you come into the game get dunked on,with no idea not even at the start that why is getting klapped,he will say I won’t play this game,at the start even I don’t know what should I do,why would he spend money if he does not know anything and remains a clueless, not knowing anything makes it frustrating he wouldn’t want to play the game anymore, why would you play, would you play it if you couldn’t figure out anything,do you sit with scientists who figure out gigantic discoveries even if you won’t to,but if you don’t know you will only sit there, you would only go crazy, you can’t do anything right

They removed a basic and fundamental part of the mode which will destroy it,it was good no time wasting easy and all the information plane and simple

Oh, for Pete’s sake!!! So since sometimes it’s wrong, then it’s better gone from the game?? Did Gaijin even ASK ANY PLAYERS about this?

Some days ago I was looking for a new tank to grind in the American tree. I noticed the M6A1 now has a T1E1 derivative, so I wondered whether it was any difference in armor… and was greeted with this extremely (un)useful piece of bovine excretion:

So, it’s armored with steel and it stops projectiles. Glad to know, I feared it was a china vase.

But, I noticed the little interactable button. “Armor”. “Fine”, I thought, “there it is, one click away but oh whatever”, because the armor thickness information will still be there, will it? Will it??

Turns that it leads to the protection analysis, where one can very clunkily, very unintuitively, very cumbersomely try and figure whether the armor is any different from the previous vehicle, which now sits 3 clicks away because of whatever reason Gaijin had to perpetrate this on players.

So I made the sensible thing and won’t bother grinding a different tank once I’m done with my current. Which means I will not be playing American WW2 tree. Which means I will run out of grinds to grind sooner as I hit the neverending one-shot-you-dead grind of upper tiers in other trees.

Thus,

I AM PLAYING LESS THUS GAIJIN WILL GET LESS MONEY FROM ME BECAUSE OF THIS CHANGE

(and then don’t get me started on the new crew stats, or how a sleek and useful GUI that made its job wonderfully has been replaced by a cumbersome clickfest that for some reason fills your whole screen on the opposite end of the place where people who read from left to right will start looking for information… I literally though it was a bug)
