Israel’s really the smallest the game can handle, counting the rank 1-3 vehicles that should be in the tech tree.

WTF do Greece and Israel have in common?
Israel’s tech tree being as small as it is (despite actually being larger than Japan, last I counted) is Gaijin’s fault. There are plenty of vehicles to fill the gaps within the tree and bring it closer to larger tech trees. The addition of Greece and Cyprus makes this even easier to do.

Israel, Greece, and Cyprus are in the GSI project together. Greece has been bulk purchasing loads of Israeli equipment for a few years now, and they’re all regularly threatened by their collective enemy in the region, Turkey. This list isn’t everything, but it’s a pretty decent choice for the Game’s health.
As for why Italy can’t have Greece. Aside from the fact that they invaded them in WW2, they already have two major sub-trees.
Turkey should likely go to a separate nation from Israel. In the future, there may be a Unified Arab tech tree. Turkish vehicles would work well there.

I’m only making proposals at this point, and I can’t speak for what Gaijin will do. As it stands, I’m already dumbfounded that they intend to create a unified Korean tech tree, mostly because minor nations are already being drip-fed content as it is.

Turkey is a major backer of Arab groups operating within the Middle East. It would make sense for them to share a tech tree with a decent portion of Arab states. I can’t specify which ones, but Turkey has many friendly relations within the Middle East.

A flag symbol or regional alliances have nothing to do with War Thunder tech trees are structured Tech trees are about military doctrine and vehicle lineage not politics or who is friendly with whom by every meaningful metric Türkiye does not belong in an Arabic tech tree. Not german, not swedish but israeli. At some point I thought sub-tech trees worked as fillers not main force of a tech tree, considering how is implemented in-game, see Hungarian when Leopard 2A7HU is by various factors better than Ariete AMV.
You’re getting your own conclusions, @Heavytanker1945 never expressed any hate torwards Israel as War Thunder content anytime in this thread, matter of fact Israeli tech tree was considered a bad addition four years ago, when the tech tree was announced, this Reddit post shares this same concerns. Israeli tech tree itself is not the reason why the game lacks older technology from prior conflits like World War Two and so on but I have no doubt that better potential additions could’ve been considered.
But then again , Greece was established way way before Isreal and it is a part Europe. There no reason for it to be in Isreal tree before “Le A country is close to Le B country”. The mentally to instantly jump to politic is insane
