Eh…we haven’t even been given a reason on why they are being removed most are assuming FOMO or whatever that means, unrealistic despite not being fully true and other sorts. Generally, I just want to know why the German Wellington and Ki-96 are being removed. Besides: Lack Of Sales and Interest.
oh come on … they did that several times already. Which is exactly why we expect them to do it again and again (you’re absolutely right that they won’t change their behavior).
Challe’s Yak-9T … previously available for 1600GE, removed, now only available through camouflage gambling boxes
Heavy tank No. 6 (japanese premium Tiger) … previously available as store pack, removed, now only available in camouflage gambling boxes
T-34E … previously available as store pack, removed, now only available in various event gambling boxes (recently in Travel Suitcase box)
I assume the vehicles are no longer profitable; so they are doing this move in an attempt at the vehicles ending their availability cycle on a high note (fuelled by sale + FOMO, particularly among collectors) rather than remaining on the trees as zombie products.
If that’s the case, the vehicles will likely sell more and spark more interest during these days than they would have otherwise in any foreseeable future, hahah.
The Yak-9T isn’t a GE premium, it’s an event premium that was available for purchase.
T-34E is an event vehicle.
And Heavy Tank No6 is the only unique case.
None of which are the behavior Silesian claimed.
None of these are event vehicles; and in the case of Heavy Tank No6, they aren’t incomplete shipments to another country either.
Unfortunately, this is gonna do more harm than anything. I’m a collector and if you’re putting it into a gambling box, I’m not gonna bother trying to get it. Waste of money and my own time. So I’ll stick to what’s available instead. Current, Former etc CC’s have already shown that those boxes aren’t worth it.
The Challe Yak-9T, while a premium vehicle, was only ever used for special flash events before its lootcrate life. It was never a “regular” GE vehicle. The other two were store vehicles, which now are also lootcrate only.
While never say never, until now Gaijin has never yet converted a former GE premium to a SL lootbox vehicle. All former “regular” GE premiums removed in this way have so far only been seen again as event flash specials, selling for their full GE price.
It would be nice of them to say, “hey we have too many Warbonds vehicles now and not enough SL lootbox vehicles, so we’re moving some things around, and seeing some of these in a lootcrate is a possibility.” But of course they can’t, because that would discourage purchases right now. So we just have to stay in the dark on the future intentions for these vehicles because it’s part of the FOMO. Which is pretty scummy behavior, to be honest. It’s always sad when they burn down long-term customer goodwill for short-term profit like this.
But no it’s fair to say if we go only by precedent that none of these vehicles will ever been seen in any way that would be accessible to the F2P audience ever again, since no “regular GE” vehicle that has been removed has shown up in a lootcrate as of yet. You can say “well they should just pay money then” of course, sure, but it is still looking like a permanent removal of content from the non-paying majority of players, which is really nothing to celebrate.
Ki-10 II C, Tandem Mai. I have rarely seen these in matches really at all. Probably 1 Tandem Mai and Ki-10 IIC doing its thing rarely.
NOOOOOO!!! I REALLY wish you’d stop removing store packs and in-game premium vehicles, Gaijin.
At least give us a month or two heads-up on this so we can start allocating funds early instead of having to do this last minute dash with only a few days notice…
Thank you for the discounts, though.
There are no plans for this.
I take the Tandem Mai a few times when I’m playing low - it’s kinda fun - isn’t manoeuvrable to dogfight with a lot of the low BR peers, but that rear gunner has the world’s best view! :)
who asked to remove them?
Clearly someone anti British since the Hudson and Havoc are the only heavy attacker there at BR of 2
This is a shame. Not only is content gatekept, but we as well as infrequent and new players do not even get any other vehicle choices as compensation.

I’m gonna say it:
Warthunder is not a tank [vehicle] fighting game. It’s a tank [vehicle] collection game. It’s combat part is ancillary to advancing in the tech tree and unlocking new vehicles. In other words: it’s Pokémon, but with tanks [vehicles] instead of cute monsters. Gaijin has committed to this format and will add as much [stuff] as possible, regardless of how useless and difficult to balance it will be."
I don’t see what the big deal is. Only a couple of these are particularly unique, and those will probably return with flash sales for those who REALLY want em. All the captured stuff is great to be removed from sale, and honestly, shouldn’t have been added in the first place.
