they have the “J-36”, “J-50” and maybe a loyal wingman atleast, but they’re all prototypes that we know next to nothing about apart from some somewhat blurry photos, I dont think we even know their names, J-36 and J-50 were just names given by western analysts

Seems like Japan might be responsible for airframe assembly in Japan for production GCAPS.

Now im not sure if it means each nation will develop one component of the aircraft like engines in U.K, Airframes in Japan etc…or if this is one base where the jet will be produced and U.K asnd Italy will have their own most likely the latter.

It will probably follow a similar set up to Eurofighter - each partner nation produces a portion of the plane as per the work share agreement, and then every nation has their own final assembly line where they put together the finished jets.
It’s not particularly efficient, but it’s so far been the best way to keep everyone happy in a collaborative project. Final assembly is a very important part of the jet being considered British or Italian or Japanese or whatever else.

At least the Engines are in co-development, based on Japans already pre-developed domestic engine for F-X.
