I dont understand what f2p means
but literally nobody helps me in repair, even if he is 10 meters away
A significant amount of USA WW2 premiums are not only not bad, they’re incredible (Xp-50, XP-55, Spit Lf 9, Bf109F4. Now, domestic genuine actual-service premiums do suffer in the U.S TT but that’s a general issue with premiums - they’re rarely domestic and are usually weird things.
If U.S had a premium F4U-4 it’d be awesome.
Generically, the advice I gave you should still apply with some caveats (Idk how well Defyn’s game sense translates to RB, and a lot of air combat maneuvering was developed with certain expectations that are shattered by the Arcade power & maneuverability boosts)
However.
I regularly encountered level 100s in ASB even back when I was level 40 or 30 something and I would handily beat them.
Now that I’m level 60 something, I regularly encounter people who are level 20-40 who absolutely clown on me.
Why is this?
- Level only represents the amount of RP you gain.
- The amount of RP you gain differs by game mode, rank and account status
- Someone with a premium account will probably reach twice as high level as someone playing F2P. Are they a better player? If I had a premium account from the start, I’d have likely hit level 100 a long time ago. Would I have been a better player in this alternate universe?
- Someone with a premium plane and premium account will reach a high level FOUR TIMES as fast. I’d have likely hit level 100 way, way earlier than I even reached level 50 in this universe. Would I be a better pilot in this alternate universe where I immediately bought a premium account and some high tier premium jet?
- Higher ranks, even without premium, award more RP. My Bf109F4 gives me a 136% RP modifier. My F5E gives me 238%. In 15 minutes of flying my Bf109F4 with equivalent performance, I earn half the level progress as I would in the F5E.
Does flying my F5E make me a better pilot compared to my Bf109F4? Technically it makes me better at jet combat, but not at prop combat. - 15 minutes of flying at comparable performance in Air RB gives significantly higher RP gains (I’ve had games in excess of 10K RP for a 15 minute match in a yak-3) than 15 minutes of flying in Air sim (most I can earn regardless of how well I do is around 2500ish RP per 15 minutes because of how rewards are calculated). Air AB would give me a reward in-between these two extremes.
Does flying 15 minutes in ARB make me a better pilot than if I fly 15 minutes in ASB or AAB? Maybe in context of ARB, yes - but it won’t improve my performance disproportionally in ASB/AAB.
- You gain RP whether you’re bombing bases brainlessly and suiciding promptly and whether you’re engaging in tight dogfights against near-impossible odds and win on the skin of your teeth.
- You gain RP playing with tanks and boats. Tanks and boats teach you nothing about flying aircraft and conversely, flying planes teaches me nothing about using tanks. Someone who spent a thousand hours mastering ground RB is going to be just as competent (read: not) in air simulator as someone whose first act booting up Warthunder was to go straight into ASB.
Surely you see the flaws in “I’m a level 7 fighting level 100s”?
Now, there are a few caveats - a level 100 likely has a maxed crew slot (unless they’re starting a brand new tech tree in a brand new game mode) and a maxed crew has incredible impact on dogfight potential (being able to sustain 5.5G, being able to rapidly endure high-G/low-G can make or break a reversal)
However, that’s more of a p2w mechanic rather than raw levels.
Free to play
Yep this is why you never get into those situations
Out of curiosity what is your go to load out? I think if we can get specifics on the vehicles you typically use, the advice can be more specific.
Only thing I have to say is you’ll have to rough it. The US has a good tree, and after dying a bunch and a bunch, you start to learn, to think about strategy, that sort of thing. Every time (well not every time but maybe 80%) I die I try and think about how I died and what led me to die. Did I rush a point alone? Was I being greedy? Did I try and head-on an F-82? We learn from out failures, so take that as a way to improve. Not some premium that looks good in a test drive
I use Ki-61, ki-45, ki-4, H8K2 and Ki-102 otsu, do you think they are good?
I like to use free camera, because you see everything and have better aim, but then i dont see anything from back. With First person camera aiming is little hard, but i see little more enemies frim back. With third person my aim is very bad.
Ki-61 “TEI” is kinda meh. It’s fat.
Ki-61 “HEI” is a little bit lighter, and that makes it a very fun aircraft to fly. You kind of need to play with MEC to get her to work properly though.
Hei you should fly it less like a normal japanese planes like zeros and instead feel a bit more like italian planes but you actually have firepower? I dunno how to word it exactly.
i use to fly japanese ones, i think its hei
its machine guns are very fast, those are 6 guns
They are in a close br range so it seems to be quite good. I would recommend the A6m2 and A6m2 mod 11 as they have good turn rates and might help in singling out a plane close up. With the H8K2, do you climb high? This might help with avoiding fighter planes (you can also try ask in chat or through the comms for support/escort and hope for a response)
Trully a new age of incompetence
It is easier to find men who will volunteer to die than to find those who are willing to endure pain with patience.

i climb high, could u also help me with ki 61 and what ammo type is best?
Nobody responds also, they are focused on killing mostly
I’m unfortunately not well versed in the ki series planes as I mostly used zeros and the B7a2
Oh, what does zeros mean? Im on 3.3 BR
Zeros are A6M series planes so A6m2, A6m2-N, A6M2 mod 11, A6M3, A6M3 mod 22 and so on
Battle rating?
