Get the Iranian F-14A IRIAF in the ‘Persian Tomcat’ event

It’s because in air AB you’re matched with lineups, not individual planes, and the BR of a lineup in air AB is based on the average of your 3 highest rated planes.

For some planes it’s ok to downtier them, some will just gimp your entire lineup, especially if you have many slots.

its just fair…
the tank events are for tanks and the plane events for planes :)

it allways have been this way. its no surprise here man.

I am using the Wyvern, but now everyone is using it to take out bases. So I go for AI Targets and maybe also other players instead. I also throw the Sea Vixen in sometimes. Managed 45k in a single day on saturday

It wasnt for Jaguar IS event.

oh well, was worth a shot.

Arcade is just disgusting rn, everyone is ramming, RAMMING, RAMMING and more toxic RAMMING

I just watched the two Air Arcade battles you played before you wrote this message. No one rammed you in any of these battles.

I suspect for you ramming means that enemy fighters decided to do head-ons against you. You played with strike planes that use heavy guns at the front, but don’t turn very well. Maybe forcing head-ons like this works in Air Realistic, but this tactics just doesn’t make sense in Air Arcade.

I’m not surprised to see your results:

Spoiler

But I understand your frustration. With such scores you can’t complete the event in Air Arcade, especially with low event multipliers there.

I don’t know why, but many Realistic players think they are “pro”, and Arcade players are “noobs”. So in their minds they can just join Arcade and get crazy scores. But it doesn’t work like this.

Both game modes are very different and you have to play them differently. I used to force head-ons in Air Arcade, when I was a new player. But it’s just way too risky, I stopped doing this years ago, it’s not a good way to play Air Arcade.

The funny thing is, when I started playing Air Realistic most my kills were from head-ons. Head-ons seem to be much easier in this mode. It’s simply easier to avoid enemy fire, as planes are not as agile as in Arcade (ironically).

If you want to play Air Arcade with strike aircraft lineup, I suggest to focus on ground targets. Don’t go middle, just go to the side with less enemies and kill ground AI units there. It makes most sense to use bombs to destroy medium tanks (they give good score) and pillboxes (their score was unfortunately reduced from 100 to 40 some time ago, so they are not good targets nowadays). Then you can use guns to destroy artillery/AAA/light vehicles.

It’s really hard to survive in Air Arcade battles, you need very good awareness, and sometimes even that is not enough. It’s much easier to stay alive in Air Realistic, where you have more time to look around, predict the outcome of the situation and react.

Even as a Air Realistic newbie, I can recommend to just stick to Air Realistic during the event. It’s much easier to get the required score there (x1.4 game mode multiplier and x2.5 actions score multiplier), especially when you use planes with missiles. During the current star, I’m checking my results with the Su-11. Many times I heard this plane is overpowered, so I thought it might be a good idea to try it during the event. But because I don’t know how to dogfight, I’m not doing very well with it. I struggle to kill other players with guns in Air Realistic, and I don’t understand many situations (my plane just can’t follow the enemy like in Arcade). Dogfighting is definitely much harder in Air Realistic (I don’t understand it yet), so it’s probably better for me to just play at higher BRs and use missiles.

I played 6 battles so far in Su-11, and my score results were: 127, 2084, 1355, 995, 658, 1930. So only two good battles so far, and my overall event progress is poor. The Su-11 is a rank 5 plane, so no additional multiplier, but thanks to the game mode multiplier of x1.4, my current event progress score is over 10k. It still takes effort to complete 45k score this way, but it’s not that bad. I would need much more effort to get that 10k in Air Arcade, where 1 player kill is only worth 180 score.

But I think I will go back to just bombing bases and using missiles in Air Realistic. It’s much easier and quicker score than dogfighting with the Su-11. At least for me, but I’m just a newbie.

I was playing quite a bit of Air AB before, but never really with such strike aircraft. Mostly Germany with Premiums. And I am mostly playing Ground RB nowadays so I am rusty.

Indeed, I thought with the lead indicators and all the other things I would shred with ease. Big mistake.

Used the Wyvern for the rest of yesterday, killing AI and forcing headons. One Match I even got over 3k score. But as an Air RB newbie myself I struggle with leading my shots and proper dogfighting. Around 23k done, the other half today. Although I doubt that I can manage to grind all Stars, and I want all 9.

for the fastest way was AB with 10.0 USA.
i do about 3000 points every game and it has multiplier.

i do only kills but if you have tornado you can use it to do alot of ground pound. you will get 3000 points at ease it has alot of bombs and you get maps with A B C and that maps have alot of AI ground grouped.

i’ve done my task in about 2 hours last night using this method.

I can try the Tornado in Air Arcade. I actually played it in Air Realistic, and in my opinion this plane is pretty bad there (especially I don’t have it upgraded yet, and it’s not as fast as I expected it to be).

I normally don’t play jets in Air Arcade, so I’m a newbie in this territory. But it costs me nothing to try it.

I played propellers a lot in Air Arcade, but they have a negative event multiplier in this game mode. And the effort required to complete the event this way with negative multipliers is crazy.

I actually noted my score, when the devs introduced score-based events:

Playing with such performance (10 kills per battle at average) is very hard and requires a lot of effort. I’m usually exhausted after a few battles like these.

I don’t have this problem in Air Realistic. In fact, if you get like 2 kills Air Realistic, this is already a good score result. And especially with missiles it’s not that hard. Meanwhile in Air Arcade, 2 kills are nothing and won’t give you any decent scores.

Focusing on ground targets is definitely a good option in Air Arcade. It’s only a question can you avoid enemies.

Bombing bases was also a very good way to get high scores in Air Arcade, but some time ago the devs reduced (changed) the score for destroying bases in this mode. And now the higher rank of the bomber, the higher penalty it gets. Nowadays it only make most sense to use rank 1 and rank 2 bombers.

I completed a few previous events with low-ranked bombers in Air Arcade. My favorite bomber was PV-2D:

Spoiler

But then the devs decided to move it up in rank, from rank 2 to rank 3. And at rank 3 you have a higher penalty for bombing bases, so such scores are impossible anymore with this plane.

That’s one of the reasons why I switched to Air Realistic. But I don’t mind checking out other suggestions.

personally i dont have the tornado, but i se them alot, with 15/20 ground targets and 2000 score at least (and thats in the first minutes of the game, and they quit after)

i tried the same strategy with f5c but its too slow compare to tornado and they get to the targets before me.
maps with A B C are best for big score.

Oh I see. So you are talking about killing Light Tanks in Domination battles. Yeah, it’s surely a good tactics (tanks give good scores). But most of your battles won’t be Domination battles.

For example, I just played the Front Line mission with the Tornado, and Air Arcade scores are a joke there:

Spoiler

I can get this kind of score in Air Realistic for just destroying 2 bases. Also, this score in Air Arcade has no game mode multiplier (to be precise, it’s x1.0 multiplier in Air Arcade), and in Air Realistic it would be multiplied by x1.4.

And it’s not like I’m doing poorly in the battle. Look at other players scores. Completing the event with such scores would take ages.

I will play a bit more and try to get Domination battle in Air Arcade. But Ground Strike and Front Line missions doesn’t look too good so far.

BTW: If someone wonders, destroying a base with the Tornado in Air Arcade is worth 124 score. That’s really bad, the score penalty at this rank in this game mode is just crazy.

yes light tanks and AAA’s those are eazy to get and are all grouped.

good luck finding what works best for you.

Ok, so I played 7 Air Arcade battles in the Tornado. My total result is pathetic 3166 score. Because it’s Air Arcade, it was multiplied by x1.0 (game mode multiplier) and x1.2 (rank 8 multiplier). So in total I gained 3799 event progression score after 7 Air Arcade battles.

Then I played 1 battle in Air Realistic with the same Tornado. I got 1989 score, which was multiplied by x1.4 (game mode multiplier) and x1.2 (rank 8 multiplier). So I gained 3342 event progression score after 1 Air Realistic battle.

I think I will just stick to Air Realistic. It’s much easier to play, survive and get high scores there.

I will try to get the F-111A before the next Air event, so I will be able to try rocketing bases in Air Sim (x3 game mode multiplier). But I never played Air Sim, so I’m not sure how difficult it will be.

I would also be interested in sim. With my SU25 with 160 S-8 missiles vs. 8 x 500kg bombs. What would bring more points after the nerf?

Im not totally sure but i think you cant get an entire base with 160 rockets. This is important cause you get a point bonus of like 200 if you destroy the entire base and not just parts of it and you could get two complete bases with the 500kg bombs so id probably stick to that

Sorry, I didn’t mean the bases, I meant the airfields.
