The Iranians have had to fabricate and begborrow&steal consumable parts to keep them flying for over 40 years. So by now they are mostly domestic.
They would say: “How does the biggest enemy of Iran get their planes” or “I want it in the Russian TT”
So you want to bring real world stuff into this. There is no need to talk about Russia right now

I won’t disagree with that. But there’s no Iranian tree. So in the US air tree it goes. Since it’s still an American plane.

People here just take it very lightly, Iran after 1979 changed radically, not only in the government, but in the population as well, the Islamic revolution is one of the most important parts of Iranian history.

Iran USED this aircraft, so YES.
U.S. ain’t use F-14, with R-27 (and R-27 at all), so they can go… away.
USSR provide the Iranians R-27, and they be friends (as now, with RF) that time… But i don’t want this Tomcat to USSR too.
To Israel… Well, that is too thicc trolling, so better don’t do that.
China… well, they brought alot of oil to China, but i can’t call it that tight relationship.
I think about Italy. They have Turkish machines (and Turkey in not the worst relations with Iran), and also used R-27, in Hungarian MiGs.
Also, Italy players really in need of some good grinder.
Or just better, then Turkish Starfighter.
