I bet my ass it will use the exact same FM of an already existing F-5 and will only change skin and armament
Yeah i know, i just cant actually believe it
thanks so much :)
thanks a lot :)
So it’ll be what, 11.7? Certainly can’t be 11.3 with the Thai F-5s.
So the Norwegian F-5 will get to use its anti ship missile against tanks, but not the German Tornado?

45.000 for reskin of squadron vehicle
AGM-119 is guided by ir, but AS34 is radar instead?
i dont agree with some post asking for the ASM to be removed or to have its anti tank capabilities removed. if they are testing these to eventually allow other nations with similar capabilities then good.
With this new ASM being IR homing and being allowed to target tanks will other nations such as Japan with its ASM-2 (original ASM-2 is IR tracking) be allowed to be added and used against tanks?
now sure ASM-2 might be a while due to its superior performance but i hope its considered.
Similarly will GCS-1 which is IR (and already in the files and has 3d models!) also be added these domestic options would be nice CAS for existing Japanese aircraft.
GCS-1 can literally be added within the next update.
Well, the Penguin uses an IR-seeker as opposed to the radar seeker of the Kormoran. Picking up an IR source against the ground is quite a different ball game than picking up radar returns that are not ground clutter.
its just an 9L with 9M seeker, has still the smoky motor :)
But where is there documentation of Penguins being tried against ground vehicles?
Cant find anything and never heard of it
Is this plane worth grinding for ?
Ok, that’s the thing …
A F-5A with 9L/i …what BR?
And while i like the vehicle, just because the MM system in game is that bad it will either be too good, or too bad.
I think that should be the first vehicle with variable BR so you can see how it goes.
If it comes to the game with the current setting for engine exhaust temperature (which is still 100K too low btw) it has enuf CMs lol.
Only notion I found was in a single sentence in the German wiki article on the missile, but without reference.
I’m not saying the Penguin should be able to engage land targets, just that by the tech involved, I’d be less surprised if the Penguin could do it, but the Kormoran certainly not.
(Note: Maybe one could envision the Kormoran engage large land targets with good radar returns under certain conditions, like buildings. But how would it differentiate between a tank and ists surroundings?)
I will be grinding this out, hell yeah!
Keep in mind this is also where that Japanese IR bomb comes into the equation.
That one was straight denied to have anti ground capability, and weirdly enough the Penguin doesn’t seem to have any docs on that issue as well.
(I have my own BS against sweden but this is norwegian so I’ll take it. It does fall under sweden so handholding here is guaranteed, obviously)
