Decompression is really needed. I agree. I don’t think this will do well at 13.0 with what would likely be consistent up tiers. 13.3s will likely crush this.
I am glad it is being added, even if I am concerned about it’s potential BR placement and viability.
I gotta ask why do you think it won’t do well? I mean speaking of the current 13.0 this is literally the most well rounded one with fox 3s. It’s loadout is identical for A2A as the Viggen while boasting a better RWR and Radar.
Nearly every US main I’ve seen has said this thing is basically DOA and cry about it being 13.0, I have the F-14, F16 ect and I really don’t get why people seem to think it’s gonna suffer at 13.0 more than any other vehicle, I don’t mean to be rude but I legit can not grasp why so many people seem to think this thing basically won’t do fine at 13.0

I think that range is too compressed. I don’t think it’s actually bad. I just think the Premium Su30s will eat it and that it will see way more up tiers than down tiers at 13.0. Most of the time I play 13.0 I get up-tiered to 13.7. I don’t think it will do well if that’s the case. This is just my personal opinion. Although I have top tier U.S I am not a U.S main. More Sweden & Israel although I think my most played vehicle in hours is a 9.3 Japanese tank. (9.0-9.3 Japan is really fun!). My opinion is subject to change with more data.
I don’t play the 13.0 viggen anymore due to consistent up-tiers. I play the 13.7 grippen instead. Far more maneuverable. Does decently well in up-tiers.
Let me be clear. All 13.0s suffer under the current level of br compression.

AIM-7 Sparrows, even mockups of Sparrows, were never mounted and tested on F-16XL models.
There’s no evidence that the F-16XL had hardpoints that allowed the Sparrows to be conformally mounted, except for the AIM-120s.

Aw man, wish the XL could carry some more AMRAAMs… would be really neat if it could carry 6 + the 2 9Ls
i’ve seen a lot of things stating that they were modified for the Cs standard LANTRN chin pods (one the LANTRN NAV pod, the other the Targeting pod), but LANTRN didn’t enter proper production till 2 years later but mentions of it test flying with a pave spike pod were all over the place, however there were no photos of it that i could find
I was hoping this wouldn’t be an event vehicle, considering it’s been teased in the “Looking into 2026” decal 8 months ago. It’s pretty disappointing after having to wait this long. I hope Gaijin aren’t gonna make Su-15 and Arjun event vehicles as well.

The F-16XL can carry six AIM-120A missiles, as well as GBU-12 and GBU-24 bombs.
According to available data (as provided in the attachments), the F-16XL can carry six AMRAAMs on stations 2, 6, 7, 11, 12, and 16 respectively.
From various sources, including photographs and literature, we know that the F-16XL can carry six 2000‑lb MK84 bombs (on stations 2, 4, 12, and 14; stations 4 and 12 can be fitted with multiple ejector racks, each carrying one or two bombs) or fourteen MK82 bombs (on stations 3, 4, 5, 8, 11, 12, and 13). Moreover, the F-16XL has already been adapted for the LANTIRN laser targeting pod. Although it had lost the competition before the adaptation work was fully carried out, the F-16XL was originally designed to enhance ground‑attack capabilities. From an engineering perspective, the avionics and pylons of the F-16XL were designed from the very beginning with the future ability to carry precision‑guided munitions, and it is capable of uploading target coordinates to the weapons. Furthermore, had the F-16XL actually entered service with the U.S. Air Force, it would have been inevitable that the service would have adapted it for various precision‑guided weapons; otherwise, the “Strike Falcon” would have lost its reason for existence.
Gaijin Entertainment has a classic saying: “Facts are not the key; the key is the feasibility of the loadout.” Currently, in the game, the AGM‑65 on the Israeli F‑15, the Kh‑38 on the Su‑30MKM/SM, and the AGM‑179 on some AH‑64E models do not exist in reality. As for the F‑16XL, the subject of this discussion, during its test flights it only carried dummy models of the AIM‑120A (the F‑16XL lost the competition in January 1985, while the AIM‑120A did not enter service until September 1991 – the timelines do not match). If the F‑16XL cannot carry GBU‑series bombs, then logically it should not carry AIM‑120 either.

it will also have a much worse FM than the 13.3 f-16s
don’t compare it to the ADFs when it is in almost all regards a different plane
