And the 27 g tolerance is still pretty nice
Which doesnt necessarily help. A lot of 9.7s and a few 10.0s dont even have CMs, let alone things it will see in downtiers. Most missiles at that range are defeated kinematically and not with flares… So… good luck kinematically defeating a 27G missile fired from a supersonic without flares
I know this is very situational but I’ve seen people in match use the Sun and Rocket pods as countermeasures

The sun can work, though highyl dependent on time of day and only really helps for brief windows.
Rockets can work. Ive had mixed success with the FGA9, but you only get so many and it is a faff to swap weapons to fire them

Especially if you have multiple types of missile in combination with the rocket pods
Rockets are indeed an effective flare system if you dont have any flares, been something I have actively done for years and suggested to others to do for years on aircraft where it wouldnt harm the flight model too much. Especially back when the Harrier was first added to WT and people complained about the SRAAM. When I was using the Marut the internal rocket bay is a great thing for that role.
I always get the “I SHOULDNT HAVE TO DO THAT!” back of course because people didnt want solutions they want to complain most the time xD.
Its also much easier to do these days now you can make your own loadouts, back before that change it was a much more fair complaint.
I was also considering buying the Lightning F53 and using the rockets as such but I kinda forgot.

This is largely an anti-bomber missile. A direct hit is both easy and guarantees a kill even with a small warhead.

Yes, so long as the target is in view, where its mounted, it will be better for finding things above the aircraft, unless you roll inverted or nose down

But you cant guide SARH using IRST. It also wont have IFF, so you’ll have to be careful about trusting it in SB. Though neither does the radar by the looks of things
