it’s placeholder for now, the perfomance isn’t final, but i do hope the MLU also receive AIM-120 together with PL-12 on J-8F since only the J-8 would be underwhelming to say at least since keeping it on 11.7 with PL-12 would be unbalanced, the best route i could see if gaijin still wants to keep only the J-8F with ARH for now is giving it also the PL-8B that would have irccm before moving it up on BR
None seem to impact much outside of the transonic region
How to fix Air RB 10.0+ for dummies:
Reduce player count to 8 v 8
Use EC maps, and spread bases, targets, etc across the horizontal axis (Do not bunch them up in one area or you just make one giant furball - bad!)
Create a new kind of base which when destroyed, impacts the other teams ticket count drastically. These can only be seen by bombers, not fighters, strike aircraft etc and can only be destroyed by bombers. (Suddenly strategic bombers are usable :v)
Normal bases remain for strike planes to farm with
The biggest part: Create 3 spawn locations to choose from. Left, middle or right (like in EC) to avoid giant Team v Team furballs.
???
Profit.
I feel like we need another dev server with not only Fox-3, but also with the ground returns disabled.
There are key problems with testing Fox 3s at the moment, in that due to ground returns they remain extremely easy to defeat, and most players stick to tree level to be immune to these missiles.
Another problem are the maps, they are relatively small and don’t allow for an initial engagement at high altitude with high speed. This is also overlooked.
The high player count is a really good thing, if only player spawns would be spread out instead of a single airfield, with objectives only in the middle of the map.
The notion of placeholders is outdated. In the past, there used to be second or even third tests on the testing server, so some people thought that the first test didn’t need to pay attention to whether the data was correct or not. But now Gaijin has been consistently cutting corners, or one could say they lack manpower. Anyway, the test server will be shut down after the first test, and immature content is directly implemented into the live server. Therefore, we must take the data on the test server seriously. Additionally, I agree with your perspective on the F-16 MLU and J-8F.
Still think 8v8 is a little low for proper sized maps and good spawns
Well 16v16 matchamkings can be keapt but maps need to change, numerous spawn would really be an upgrade and change many things atm + what gaijin would need to do is just to add the EC maps used in sim to the RB pool and give them a high chance to appear/restrict actual big maps with 1 spawn to like 10.7-12.7. And put planes with ARH missiles in 13.0 and the Sim EC maps that have been RBfied in 13.0+ BR. Would also help planes with ARH not mixing with no ARH planes.
I think air spawns spread out for initial start more than one airfield for what i think air needs is respawns to give air rb a frontline so teams dont disappear in 5 min and you are by yourself aswell as slightly bigger maps would easily make 16 v 16 honestly fun and could provide more play styles in air
Generally though, the ir missiles are put on the inner pylons. In the event, they are on the outer pylons
Agree 100%
Could the Gripen carry BOL dispensers on the FOX3 pylons?
With AMRAAMS im pretty sure it could

I used to play alot of 32v32 AussieMantis custom battles back in the day 2017/2018. That was with my ancient FX8320, 8GB RAM and HD7850 which could run WT at 60FPS full HD no problem. Do people really not play on better HW nowadays? I am not shaming, just shocked TBH.
Any higher and you’d be facing stupid amounts of active radar missiles and the problem becomes the same as it is now: Ace Combat levels of missiles headed your way with no room for anything beyond just a giant furball and luck of who survives.
It’s the same with people hugging the ground in ARB. You shouldn’t have to - your missiles and plane performs better at altitude, but you go high: you’re met instantly with an undodgable number of missiles.
Less players means slower gameplay, but that’s not a bad thing at all. Modern jets shouldn’t be fighting in swarms like Biplanes of WW1/2.
Maybe they could make respawns a thing? But ultimately, the playercount needs to be drastically cut in half or more, so there’s less of an Ace Combat wall of self guiding death to face.
It means any vehicle, regardless of design has to fly low which makes gameplay suffer.
I dont disagree with the problems but 16 v 16 is obviously too much i think 12 v 12 is a good stepping stone to see how low we need to go i still think its just an issue of map size and spawns, player count isnt an issue its density
i was watching the russian dev stream and the guy with the glasses said that some missiles are done and can come “now” but the models arent ready. so i dont know what that means and mabye he was wrong i dont know.
It greatly depends on map size, but for the most part 10v10 I think would be the limit.
You’ve got aircraft like FA-18, SU-33, Typhoon, Rafale, etc that are coming in the near future that’ll all carry roughly 8 active guided missiles. In the Russians’ and Americans case - Even more.
The thing they need to avoid is cases like when the F-14 came out and the sky became filled with an endless barrage of AIM54s and it’s just luck of the draw if you survive while dodging. With AIM120s and R77s, these missiles are designed to hit evading fighter aircraft, so the problem becomes WAY worse. Paired with AESA radars, and the game becomes a survival game where airframe doesn’t matter and the max altitude is 100m off the ground.
They need to make multiple spawn points (3 airbases), create more objectives that’re spread across the map and not centralised in one location, and move away from solely fighter v fighter combat. Create bases for bombers that only they can destroy and significantly impacts the tickets if done. Make multiple playstyles and vehicle types interesting.
10v10 would be maybe pushing it, but could be viable.
8v8 would be desirable as it gives you that breathing room to evaluate the fight and actually pull off BVM and proper BVR engagements. Not just “fire and pray”
Any examples? Dont tell me the exported vehicle from other nations
Chinese domestic vehicles is not the worst in game but NEVER is the best
yes. amraam uses the same pylon as aim9
The question is can R darter use BOL
