I doubt we’ll see the testing event on live version of the game. I’s probably dev-server exclusive
not 4, 13-14 micas (or magic 2s, they’re interchangeable). 6 under the wings, 5-6 under the fuselage (2 top right and left, 2 bottom right and left, and 1/2 under the belly).
RB EC would be great to bring back but it would require some serious effort from the devs and be a pretty massive change.
The devs don’t seem to like big change.
8 vs 8 or 10 vs 10 is a much simpler solution. Match length probably wont change much.
By this logic, currently two planes have enough to destroy the entire team. It just doesn’t change much here.
Reducing team size will increase awareness which would be a major upside of a team size reduction. Downside is that the learning curve will be more difficult but its no more difficult than Ground RB. As far as match length, If you ever get down to the final 2 vs 2 or 1 vs 1, that can be a long lasting fight just because you’re both hyper aware of each other.
Lower player count doesnt necessarily mean shorter matchez.
You can’t exactly ripple off 6 er or 6 aim7 though. Whereas you can absolutely do that with arh. That makes it much easier to engage multiple enemies, which I think would make smaller matches much quicker compared to what we have on the live server currently
Then it’d be a higher BR than Rafale…
no
Maybe an interim solution is moving you up to br13 if you have arh equipped, otherwise leave you at 12.7. And cap the number of arh equipped planes in a match to two or three per side?
Hence another reason I oppose giving Mirage 4000 MICAs.
Really hoping that arh don’t come to the game in this state, the guidance is completely borked. Hopefully they listen
Maybe at the introduction of these missiles that would happen but once players get used to avoiding them i dont think the initial barrage of fox 3’s will get very many kills at all.
I feel like this could cause more problems then it solves. There will definitely be some struggling among upper tier planes without ARH’s so maybe theres some more BR decompression that will need to happen.
You could set it up such that if you equip arh missiles, you go to br 13 and only get matches against other br13 jets and the odd down tier to no lower than 12.7.
Whereas the normal 12.7 mm would apply if you don’t equip arh missiles?
to be honest fox 3 are pretty mid. r-27er is better in bvr
I’ll disagree with that. I can force you to break lock with a arh missile, while still being able to either defend myself or keep pressing. Not having to babysit the missile in the terminal stage is a huge advantage of active missiles. You’re forced to choose between either defending my missile, or guiding yours. I don’t need to make that choice. And if you decide to defend my missile, I can re commit and press you with another missile while you’re defensive
Terminal stage → depend on position of both Missiles,… the Ennemy might die, but depending on the situation → your missile will not be able to pitbull that you would be defensive.
You go on the fact that R-77 is Mach 4, but R-27ER is mach 5.8 → therefore the speed differences is about 612m/s,… therefore if both shoot from 50km away, at the same time, the R-27ER will hit you before/right at the moment your R-77 will go pitbull.
And this still let the ennemy player to defend the fox-3, after killing you.
With six aim120, I can launch one at 30-40km, which likely won’t hit, but will force him to go defensive. If he does, his missile is useless and I can close the distance and fire again while he’s defensive. The active seeker gives you much more flexibility compared to the sarh seeker
I can defend your missile once you are dead lol. r-27er is just superior and way harder to notch. These things are just garbage in the seaker department, u go 80 degrees 1 chaff and the missile is decoied, u can’t do that easily with r-27er
I took time to edit,… please re-read my post above.
R-77 = AIM-120 = MICA-EM → mach 4
R-27ER → mach 5.8
S.530D → Mach 5.0
Aim-7M → mach 4
yeah sure, lunch one 30-40km, when I have already fired my r-27er from 60km, few seconds after your missile is launched you are dead, and as you said your fox 3 is not dangerous from that distance.
Plus after you are dead I can just notch and 100% your missile is defeated with the seakers gaijin gave them. I feel like Fox-3 have to be a little stronger than this
That 60km er Isn’t ever going to hit though, I’m sure as hell not going to fly in a straight line at you
It have 100km launch range,… it’s not some little banks right and lefts that are going to add 40km travel distance to that missile,…
Can you use your brain and do some practical maths?
Also from that 60km range the R-27ER will loft and use IOG guidance, therefore, it will retain much more energy than what you seems to think.
It is different than AIM-7 in almost every way possible, and could be considered a Fox-3 missile per range and flight performances.
However a Fox-3 missile is Fox-3 because of an internal radar.
And your ennemy can also use full ability of the radar he is using, making himself to also go in S shape trajectory in order to make your AIM-120 as useless as the AIM-7 …
So,… when he says that R-27ER is somehow still usable and fairly capable vs Fox-3, he is right.
Don’t think about Fox-3 as some kind of godlike weapon,… you still have to guide it until pitbull, or else, i can simply turn 10° left and let it passing by.
So you can’t defend until it reaches pitbull range, and the R-27ER being faster will kill you before your AIM-120 goes pitbull,… is that clear enough or shall i repeat it again?
