Game has weird fps drops

So basically I need help with something, my game after the last 2-3 major updates has been having some issues, it always happens after a loading screen, either at start of o game or when I go back to the hangar. What happens is after those loading screens it caps the fps at 7-8 when I usually run the game at 120+ and the only way to go back to normal is by tabing out and back in the game or changing a random graphics setting, I have tried turning off nvidia overlay that I’ve seen someone saying that it solved for them but maybe the issue was not exactly the same as that didnt change anything.

My pc specs are the following:

AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor 3.70 GHz
16 GB Ram
RTX 4060 8 GB VRAM

Are you running on the new beta video settings that enables ray tracing? It could also be your graphics settings, quality, etc. The game also loads a ton of files in the hangar so that might be your issue.

Yea I am but I dont have ray tracing on, and when I use the other option “Direct3D 11” I still get issues also after loading screens and on start of matches that bring my fps to like 40 and i need to tab ou and back in multiple times to get back to the 100-120

Same here. I have a laptop with a Ryzen 5 5600H, 16GB of RAM, and an RTX 3060. I’m playing at 2K resolution with DLSS and usually get over 120 FPS. However, the framerate sometimes drops to 20–30, even in the hangar when looking at the sky, so I have to look down at the ground. In tank battles, the framerate almost always drops at the start of the match. It’s gotten worse recently.**

When I play helicopters, the framerate drops to 20–30 FPS, but when I’m in a tank on the same map/match, it’s 90–120 FPS. What’s going on?

I’ve been having the problem for a while now, too. I’m using an RTX 3080. The game drops to single digit frame rates. It can happen at the start of a battle, or when I return to hangar. It usually clears up after a period of time, but that can be seconds or minutes. Sometimes I’m able to alt+tab out and it clears up when I return. I’ve also been able to alt+F4 out of a battle and rejoin the battle in progress, to find frame rates had improved. It happens randomly, and just often enough to be really annoying. Thankfully, it mostly happens in the hangar and not in battles.

Hi, I’m experiencing the same issues mentioned by the original poster and others. This problem has been ongoing for quite some time, and it’s very frustrating. I’ve tried clearing the cache and compiling the shaders folders, as well as verifying the integrity of the game files through Steam, but nothing seems to help. I’m not facing these issues with any other games, only War Thunder. In other matches I played, I encountered weird colours on rocks and mountains, video issue link below.

My laptop specifications are as follows:
ASUS TUF Dash F15,
11th Gen Intel(R) Core™ i7-11370H @ 3.30GHz,
40GB RAM,
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060.

Here are video links demonstrating my issues:

Please help if anyone has a solution. I have also reached out for assistance through in-game support, but my post hasn’t been addressed.

I have a laptop with a 3060, and after lowering the graphics settings, it really helped stabilize the FPS.
but I don’t have weird colors problems.

I’m having the same issue — RTX 3070, i7-12700K, and 32 GB of RAM. After alt-tabbing, my FPS can drop to as low as 19. Because of this, I disabled ray tracing and DirectX 12. Sometimes, I have to alt-tab in and out of the game multiple times just to get the FPS back up.
