All Chinese tanks mentioned seem to have a spall liner in the turret front, side and top.
The VT-4 is confirmed to have a full side spall liner and a front spall liner.
Not sure about the spall lining on the other ones, although I would wager that the VT-4 (export) wouldn’t be superior to the ZTZ-99A (domestic), and that they both have full side/front spall liners.
It’s harder to find exact images of their hull spall liners outside of images during production, as most videos are filmed inside the turret. I believe the MBT-2000 had a picture from the driver’s position with the driver spall liner also visible.
this is a monkey model abrams stripped of its spall liners
you can still see the residue from the liquid uranium glue on the roof which was used to attach the liners
How are Chinese tanks even similar to the Abrams? also Abrams performs so bad not because it’s a bad tank but because of teams. I personally think that the Abrams is better than all Chinese tanks in most ways in warthunder.
We can see that the spall liner is present on the entire side of the hull as standard, for example in this interior photo of the regular Thai VT-4. Under Number 4 you can see the hull side spall liner.
Yeah, I know. I’m just saying that we know for a fact that they don’t only have them in the turret. It is standard to have spall liners in both the hull and the turret. Spall liners present in the turret only are very rare.
(this coming from the Americans who came into the thread first and mentioned America first and continued arguing about the Abrams spall liners to the point of now being made fun of)
(this coming from the one actually derailing the thread)
Regardless, I’ve also found this image of the ZTZ-99 in production which appears to have a white lining on the side, but it’s not as clear as on the VT-4, where it’s quite obvious.
This is not a contest, if both vehicles have inaccuracy/lacks historical feature then it should be fixed, but acting like that will accomplish nothing.
