Both Russia and china talk tons of garbage. As example the S300 missile system - “SO GOOD, 0.1 NANOMETER PRECISION!!!”. Search up S300 missile failure and you’ll get more than just one video about a catastrophic failure where the missile kills the truck driver rather than even flying 10 meters.
inhale
Wait until people talk about the naval version.
I mean, we did just get an example of the effectiveness of russian air defense systems
and chinese “anti stealth” radar systems
i love how some people glaze AK630 cause “muh firerate” meanwhile they cant hit the broadside of a barn
I had to have a think about what you meant and then I remembered there are in fact 7 continents.
Genuinely would be interested know what was going on onboard, for a 3 tiered air defence system to “not function”
It never ceases to amaze me how many people that countries incapable of competing in the electronics, automotive, or airliner industry can magically make competitive military gear.
Gaijin’s greatest trick is making Russian and Chinese stuff actually good.
Lets not throw china in the same bucket as developing countries LARPing as superpowers
IDK. I haven’t seen anything that their stuff is actually good. Just mostly China CLAIMING it is good. I know we in the west tend to overestimate our enemies (see Mig-25.)
Maybe but China
can actually compete in the first 2 and is making remarkable progress in the third, comparing them to russia is just incredibly disrespectful towards chinese progress in the last 3 decades
Eh. Sure China sells a lot of cars, but that’s all internal. They can’t compete in foreign markets.
Same thing with Chinese cell phones.
Is China better now than it was 20 years ago. Absolutely. But they lack the ability to truly compete in highly technical areas.
Here’s a close up of a J-20 “Stealth” fighter.
It’s complicated. I’m not trying to honestly compare China to Russia. I’m mostly just pointing out that China, while a superpower, doesn’t really compete with Western equipment. Yet.
Important word here. The difference is China is on the trajectory to compete while the other country you mentioned is absolutely not. But lets end this here, because these comments are very much off topic.
How does that differ than the F-35?
By the way, both that J-20 picture and F-35 pictures from that album are taken without stealth coatings applied.
Here is a picture of a J-20 and J-20A with stealth coatings applied. You can even see that the J-20A on the bottom has a flexible coating that can be applied to the wing flaps.
If you can’t see the qualitative difference between those two pictures I don’t know what to tell you.
The differences are quite small. Both appears to have RAM coating over the fasteners. But the f35 is like just a bit better as it’s flush while the J20 appears to have the rivets sink in the skin. I have no idea how much of an impact this makes.
It’s about the implications for overall production quality. One looks well made. The other looks like something you pick up on Temu.
You see the rest of the pictures of the J-20 from that airshow here. Its not exactly an apples to apples comparison since this is an early J-20 with some wear vs a brand new F-35, but it’s the best look anyone has had of any J-20.
If you want you can compare it to this F-22
Pictures aren’t enough to determine quality of fasteners. Only the manufactures will have that knowledge tbh.
Why would it even matter since they would be covered when painted?
I said this already.
