FV107 Scimitar: Single-Edged Sword!

Lmao could do or just measure one if anyone would be nice enough to let us get up close.

A lot of the armour slabs are overlaid lap joints so you can just measure from the front of the plate to the center of the weld.

What armour plate are you looking for?

pretty much all of it on the hull seems off

I know there is not real exact measurements to go off, but in this video they show the engine bay of a CVR(T) Sabre, where it is possible to see the thickness of some of the armor plates of the hull.

can gaijijn PLEASE fix this turd of a vehicle, it wont turn, its armour is just a pile of armour holes and the turret speed report was bogus

Once Dev is over i have a lot of reports to do.

Ive spent like £100 on books from Alvis on CVRT platforms to get this thing improved

Yes you do lol make a list of everything that needs to be reported.

ill put a short list of things off the top of my head I need to make a report on.

Braking force on CVRT platforms is inconsistent and too strong according to the brochure for the alvis scorpion (all CVRTs in game use the same brakes on the TN15 transmission)

All CVRT suspensions have too much travel, it should only be 8 inches of travel but is as extreme as 15 inches on striker and scimitar (source is scimitar & scorpion brochures). there is a similar issue on fox which should only get 6 inches of travel but seems to get about 10 inches on the front and none at all on the rear

Strikers gunner sight should be able to switch between 1x and 10x magnification (Alvis CVRT overview brochure)

Scimitars centre of mass appears to be too far forward making handling extremely poor, (this is an educated guess based off of the weight of the TN15 transmission and J60 engine versus the 2+ ton weight of the turret) COM should be just behind middle road wheel but its currently in front

there will likely be more once another book from Alvis arrives

The strikers sight is more complex than a simple 1-10x

The thermal also has different magnification than the day sight.

2x- 10x by day and 2x - 6x by thermals.

CVRT suspension is 8in in bump and 4in in rebound

Are you looking by any chance to give away your rig to a poor, helpless soul like myself?

Forgot to add that the wheels are currently structural steel when should be aluminium alloy the same as hull. That’s going to be changed too.

Mind if I have the front page of your technical manual so I can get gearing corrected

Rig as in PC?

a man is typing on a keyboard and pointing at the camera while saying yes to all .

Yes, just more towards the time we make the reports.

The plan was to have some people work together and compare sources before making the reports as brochures and the government issue user manuals might have contrasting claims.

It would be good to avoid confusion.

Not currently lol it’s just a laptop and my only computer.

I think it goes without saying that the CVRT, like the harrier, has fewer things accurate than inaccurate.

Once all my books arrive il post the pages in the resources in our discord server. IK your manual has a load of pages but eventually it would be great for it to be digitised too

I’ll try but no promises lol.

Would be good to have many primary and secondary sources for the reports.

it would be two primary ones as these brochures are from the factory building them trying to sell them to random warlords across the world
