I’d say with the Sea Hawk already having AIM-9Bs at 8.0 it is very much possible for T-1 to be placed at an appropriate BR with full armament.
But no matter where it ends up, +1 for one of my all time favorite Japanese aircraft

I like this and would love to have the other trainers to be added to WT but as it stands, this will be controversial since it was never seen with any armaments attached.
I guess the brochure does give leeway to the T-1 but I dont think it would be the same for the others. At the same time, WT is a game - the addition of the trainers will not be as problematic as WT adding the F-16AJ
Failed to unearth any pictures of the T-1 with armament, if they ever carried them they were kept well hidden.
HOWEVER, perusing a thread on the T-1 design origins including all 3 proposals for the competition I discovered a handy post that might swing the balance in the planes favour…
Halfway down are pages from an official English language brochure for the Fuji Heavy Industries T1F2 aka 2nd & 3rd prototypes of the Fuji T-1 and what is included in the drawings…missiles, rockets, bombs, napalm!
With similar Power/Weight ratio 0,4-0,2 as F-84G and Attacker FB with much less wing loading T-1B will fit for 8.0( standard power, more agile, less armed) even with AIM-9B
A gunpod with japanese engines. Excellent distinction from the T-1A!
japan deserve that
Although I would love to see more indigenous Japanese planes, I voted No for this aircraft since the loadout feels a bit weak. It barely gets access to 3 x .50 cals machine guns or 1 x .50cal (with only 220 rounds which will barely allow you to make any kill) with 2 bombs or maximum 2 pods of 7 x FFAR rockets each. The Firecrest suffered from the same issues and it barely gets touched by players due to it’s weak loadout.
Unfortunately, this is the only option out of three. The rest are the T-33A and the XT-4 and nothing else. For the Japanese, this is a huge support compared to getting nothing. Unfortunately, the JASDF did not invest in armed training aircraft. The first Japanese air support plane is the F-1, which is disarmed in the game, and the next air support plane is the F-2. The Japanese also built only three planes that could carry weapons: T-1, XT-4 and T-2.
But this is a recipt for a undertiered meme machine that can bully props.
The firecrest is the same, it may just have 600 round for 2 browning but it got the M3s wich gets acess to the glorius API-T rounds and its so low in BR that it fights regulary against Biplanes who are getting shredded by these.
just need a less triggerhappy finger and your are good to go with 600 rounds.
It would be the japanese version of the BI more or less in terms of playstyle and BR placement( only when its not coming with 9Bs)
so a fat +1 from me.
Dont forget the sidewinder!
i didnt forget.
without them i could see it somewhere at 6.3-7.0 BR, with sidewinders it could be the new lowest BR plane with them at 7.7 or 8.0 like the Sea Meteor MK100 or the new french prem one
As it is known T-1 never carried the weapon.
But it was only because of peace time. For war situation T-1 would be armed with weapon what means that it had weapon stations and control so it can be added
Information from museum here confirms it
Also photo of T-1 gun port
I am sure that at manual for T-1 will be information about weapon delivery. Unfortunately looks like only people living in Japan can try to find and request it
+1
seems cool.
Wasn’t T-1 considered a perfect replacement for R2Y2 by the player base before adding Thailand sub-TT?
For the longest time I’ve seen people wondering where in hell was the mg port on the jet itself we finally know where it is, thank you
I don’t think is “perfect” as in is the same “performance” as the R2Y2 but it is perfect as the low br jet that Japan should’ve had since a while ago…besides this is an actual REAL plane too and it has more variety of weapons, I guess the real discussion is what br would this be placed at because like the overtiered R2Y2 it is not 8.0 material and no, be realistic. With missiles at 9.0 is DOA
Long Overdue for an addition. +1
Perfectly viable early tier jet to replace the R2Y2 because that jet is way too overtiered
Hopefully this can carry AAM-1s. The Hatsutaka family would be perfect to introduce with that missile.
Officially, the AAM-1 was slightly inferior to the AIM-9B. So adding the T-1 with the AAM-1 may allow it to fly at a lower Br than other fighters with the AIM-9B
I’d guess they’re more or less similar in performance. I’d think with access to AAM-1 and AIM-9B it’d be roughly 8.0
